  • Quality Built Product
Style: Left Hand
Just opened it, haven’t used it yet. The packaging was top grade, will post a video later. Well made and smooth. Light weight, fits in the palm of my hand. I have the Handing 2000 series spinning reel and it’s great. Video coming soon!

  • I'm pretty happy with it
Style: Right Hand
I matched this up to a medium heavy pole. Once I got the adjustments just right it cast very well without backlash. It has a smooth cast as well as a smooth retrieval. When I fish with bait casters, I prefer the smaller ones that I can wrap my hand around the side of it and this one fits my hand well. I haven't caught any big fish that would put it to a serious test but for the average fish I do catch, it's working perfectly fine for me. ... show more

  • Very compact and casts a mile

Just as nice as my shimano reels and for a 1/5 the price. I will definitely be replacing my old reels with this one!!

  • Really well built reel for the price.
Style: Right Hand
I mistakenly ordered a right hand retrieve only to realize that I much prefer left hand retrieve. Regardless, I set this up on one of my bait casting rods to test it out. After getting comfortable with casting with my right hand and then transferring the rod to my left hand to reel it in I found this reel to quite nice. The retrieval is silky smooth and the line stacks on the spool evenly. The spool tension and magnetic brake works well and make even a novice bait caster like me look like a pro. After a short session to get my settings right I was able to put my soft and top water baits almost exactly where I wanted them. Any “miss” was more operator error than equipment failure. The finish on this reel is very nicely done and a buddy of mine that is a die hard bait casting fisherman said he would compare this to some of his reels that cost considerably more. I like this reel so much that I ordered another Handing bait casting reel (the Magic Soul) with a left hand retrieve. ... show more

  • Feels great in hand, super smooth cast.
Style: Right Hand
This baitcaster reel is one of the smoothest cranking reels I've ever used. Typically I'm a spinning reel user, so it took some time to get used to it, but once I got the hang I really had a great time. The drag adjustment is easy to work and get exactly where you want. Great option for a fisherman who is a novice with baitcasters. ... show more

  • Decent budget reel
Style: Right Hand
A year ago I didn’t even know who Handling was, now I’m quite aware of them. Being one of the new boys on the block, atleast as far as I’m concerned, they face some pretty stiff competition, and face it well. So here today I have one of their M1 baitcasting reels to review. Like most of their products the attention to fit and finish is great. Reel feels tight with no noticeable slop in the gears. One of my stupid, depends on who you ask…lol, test with a baitcaster is to set the brakes and spool tension at minimum, give the handle a good yank, and see how the spool spins. Any noise? Does it rotate smoothly? How long till it stops? None of these are scientific to say the least, but I can gather a lot from this little test. The reel spins smoothly, accelerates smoothly and slowly spins down. That tells me that the gears are pretty well mated with out excessive play/slop. What they are constructed of? Can’t tell you. The reel itself is a low profile reel, with advertised 7.2:1 gearing, so it retrieves line quickly. Good looking reel with nice feel to it. Drag system is solid and smooth, pays line out without any jerky slipping. During testing the drag system was impressive, shows a wide range of setting and the smoothness of my more, much more, expensive reels. So how does it compare to say a Abu Garcia Zata? The fit and finish are similar, as is the drag system. During test casting a 1/4 oz lure with 15lb braid it no surprise did not have the distance of the Zata, no surprise there, but can hold its head up high with its performance. Line capacity is similar to other low profile reels. So what’s my thoughts? Well if you want a reel that performs like a 200$ plus Zata, buy a Zata, baitcasting reels are one of the few things that I truly believe you get what you pay for, no way around it. If your a first time buyer of a baitcasting type reel, yeah I can recommend it with no fear of regretting such. A really good reel at a budget price that although does nothing surprisingly good at this price point, I’ve seen many others that cost more fail to meet the quality and performance across the board that this does. Not the best in a long shot, but many options that can’t even come close in this price range. As I said get what you pay for, but sometimes there’s a little extra thrown in for free. ... show more

  • Quality control issue
Style: Left Hand
Reel worked great until I went to open it up to remove the spool. A few small parts popped out and fell in the water and were unretrievable. I don't know what they were, but now the reel is toast. I know people have had great luck with these so I imagine my case is likely an outlier but it's still disappointing. ... show more
