I have tried several other products in the M lineup and been quite satisfied, so gave this a try. Have never used shave oil before and thought it was superfluous, but am happy with this as it helps get a closer shave. Currently using a Schick Stubble Eraser razor/blade set up. It does tug on the skin a little. This product did seem to soften my facial hair and make it easier to shave it all off. If you do not need extra closeness, or are looking to shave in as few steps as possible, this would be skipped. Easy to apply by pumping 1-2 drops into my hands and massaging onto the facial hair. Smells nice and light at application. I usually apply when I get up, take vitamins, brush teeth, and then start to shave, so it has had some time to sit and work. Has been effective at that, and leaves me without razor burn or other shavings problems (as helped by by M shave gel). A nice product that I am glad to know is available but not sure if I will keep this as part of my daily grooming routine long term as I may be better off changing back to a Gillette Fusion razor for a more comfortable shave. ... show more

That’s really the question you need to answer. Pre shave , after shave and during shave products give a lot of choices and I want the simplest method. I was looking for a good product for after shaving and razor burn, and I thought I’d try this also. It’s interesting and I’ll agree that it seems to work well. I didn’t feel the burn after but the shaving was typical as if I just used soap before the shave cream. The oil must work better as a lubricant, but I’m wondering if simple baby oil would also do the trick. Anyway, I’m happy and the product is a nice blend of oils. I’d say it’s worth a try for anyone looking for a gentler shave 🙏 ... show more

The M. Skin oil is unique in that you would not usually think a pre-shave should be oily. It should lift the hairs and smooth out the skin, so I really didn't know what to expect. I was very impressed by its consistency. Though it is an oil, it is a very light oil that goes on very smooth and allows for a comfortable shave. I noticed that it didn't even leave a shine once I was done shaving. It has a very light smell and because it came in a small container, it will be my traveling pre-shave. I'll continue to use my Lectric Shave at home for now, but this is a good alternative. I would recommend this product! ... show more
