I am very happy with this purchase. Full disclosure – I bought this as a gift for a coworker’s baby shower, so I have not tested it. That being said, the item arrived exactly as it appears in the picture. For anyone who orders from Amazon (or really any online store), you’ll appreciate that fact, because it is not always a given. It is nice and soft, and the color is bright just as it appears. It’s probably a little large for a newborn, but then again everybody can appreciate an oversized towel. I would definitely purchase this again as a gift. I am clueless when it comes to baby shower presents, so this will probably remain my go-to. That’s not to say that I wouldn’t use it for my own child, I just don’t have (or intend to have) any children. If you found my review helpful, please click “yes” below to let me know! A quick breakdown of my rating system: 5 STARS – the item is exactly what I expected and fulfills its purpose. I would definitely buy again, and have no desire to shop for an upgrade. 4 STARS – the item might have a minor flaw which does not affect functionality. I would not actively shop for an upgrade, but would consider purchasing a different kind next time. 3 STARS – does the job but is not impressive. I would only buy it again if I absolutely could not find a better option. 2 STARS – doesn’t fulfill its purpose.     • Cute and effective, but hate the packaging

Product is perfect for after baby's bath. Baby is a newborn so her head kind of gets lost in the hood, but she'll grow into it soon enough, and meanwhile it helps to have a lot of loose towel to dry her hair asap in cooler weather. Also noticed that she loves staring at it. We keep it hanging on a hook on the back of the nursery door, and sometimes catch her staring at it and smiling. It must be the bright yellow color. I only gave it a 4 because of one major complaint I have with the packing- they ran maybe 10 of those horrible little clear plastic tag holders through the towel and used them like staples to hold the duck face on top (so it looks like you see in the picture). I feel like these little plastic threads are hard enough to deal with on Carter's and Gerber's onesie sets- you have to cut them and make sure you grab both ends or they're hard to find since they're transparent. I'm always afraid I'll miss one and my baby will find it on the bed or carpet or heck, caught in a mitten cuff, and swallow it. They ought to be illegal on kids clothes and other items... anyway, having to cut 10 of these off the duck towel just to open it drove me close to insane. It was the first hooded towel I'd purchased and it arrived on laundry day, and I was excited to use it, but felt like I needed a lunch break in the middle of trimming the plastic tags off it. I'm serious. If you've been spending sleepless nights with a newborn, hand this item in its package to your mother in law or best friend and ask them to do you a solid.
