These lights have a very bright daytime flashing mode. My neighbors report they can see them from a long distance away. I bought one for on my handlebars and a second one I use as a taillight. I bought this set for my new bike. I have had another set of these lights on my other bike for three years and they are still going strong even though I've been caught in several rainstorms. I have not used them as a headlights but I can tell they would be awesome especially on the brightest level. They are easy to take on and off too. My only complaint is I have to charge them after each ride which is about 2.5 hours or they will run out of energy sometime during the next ride. This is a significantly less amount of time than what is listed in the manual. I would buy them again and have recommended them others. ... show more

    • Works as expected
Works great. Mainly used on a helmet. The battery life is longer than expected. This is the third NiteRider Lumina light that I have bought. The other two still work great and are used on a regular basis. My kids used the other two when we go on a night ride. My only negative is that, when charging, some usb cables turn on the light. It is really strange, but not a big deal, as I hook it up to a different cable and it works fine. It could be a problem depending on which cables you have.     • Long lasting, bright, solid build.
I have 6 nightrider headlights. I prefer the 900 one because it last longer at the same brightness level compared to other models. I also like the color temperature, more cool(white/clear) than warm (yellow). I’ve accidentally dropped it a couple times and no issues. My only complaint is the attachment to the handlebar could be better. I have both styles of attachments, I prefer the one with the screw. But I usually have to adjust them once or twice during a fierce ride, not a big deal, but wish it didn’t move as much as it does. ... show more

Earth to NiteRider, are you still in business?? I've owned NiteRider Micro series lights for a while now. Among our six bikes my wife and I share several model lights. NiteRider claims it warrants the lights for two years. However, after one of the lights proved defective less than a year from purchase, I discovered that warranties are only as good the seller. NiteRider has a great website, but after multiple attempts to reach them on their customer service number, via their trouble reporting web page, and by email, I'm beginning to think maybe they are out of business! Only a recorded message on the other end of their service number, and no response from their trouble reporting web page. That's no way to run a business, if it still exists. I'd love to recommend the NiteRider Light. It's bright enough to blind you if you're unfortunate enough to stare into the lens when turning it on. It's small enough to fit nicely onto the stem adapter for your electronics array. It's light enough to be an essential piece of training equipment. And if you're riding distance, a single charge will get you through a day on the saddle. Unfortunately, if the light fails, you're on your own. And there's the conundrum. ... show more

    • Nite Rider headlight is TOP NOTCH!
This headlight is AMAZING! It has solid, aluminum, waterproof construction and has 4 modes. The max 900 lumen setting lights up the night big time but the next setting down is MORE than enough light to see clearly at night. The handlebar clamp is solid. It's easily removable from the bracket for recharging, to prevent theft and to simply use as a portable flashlight. I highly recommend this bright headlight from Nite Rider.     • Frequently comes unclipped
I have purchased two of these. The first headlight came unclipped without me noticing. I purchased a replacement and the same thing happened. I’ve lost the second one. The headlight snaps off the clip for charging but obviously it isn’t very secure. After losing my first headlight I was extremely careful to check the security of the headlight as often as I rode my bike. I thought I was safe by simply being more careful. In my opinion the security of a headlight made for a bicycle should be more reliable. Headlight works great though. ... show more
