  • Lots of conflicting reviews...here are the facts.
Color: Majestic Blue
So if you're like me, you read all reviews on an item before buying. Before I pulled the trigger on this, I had several questions and I'm writing this review to hopefully clear up questions that you might have. First the facts: - The unit that I received (August 2022) has 4 - 8" wheels NOT 6" wheels - The unit weighs 22 lbs as advertised WITHOUT the foot rests. The foot rests add 3 lbs for a total of 25 lbs. This was verified by actually weighing the unit with a digital scale - The foot rest arms do in fact swivel back to store along the side when using the unit as a walker. Granted it's a bit awkward to swivel them, but they do NOT need to be completely removed to get them out of the way to use as a walker. - As several reviews complained...the back rest is riveted on one side of the unit which prevents it from swiveling on that one side and preventing the rider to sit far back when used as a transporter. At this point, I don't know how much of an issue it will be, but if necessary - I'll just take a 3/8" drill bit and drill out the rivets to free up that side of the back rest so the rider can sit further back. End of issue...5-minute fix. - The handbrakes do in fact lock to hold the unit steady when entering/exiting the seat. Just push the handbrakes down instead of pulling them up. The brakes are applied and will lock in the braking position. - Per the user manual, the intended user is between 5'4" and 6'2" - The maximum user weight is 300 lbs So those are the facts. Here's my opinions: It comes 90% assembled and the remaining 10% is a piece of cake. 5 minutes tops It's a solid, well-made and well-designed unit. It folds up easy and fits in the trunk of my car It rolls easy and smooth, and steers without issue It's comfortable for the rider and the 'chauffer' when used as a transporter No regrets Hope this helps your decision! ... show more

  • This is amaze-balls! The best portable mobility product I've ever bought.
Color: Majestic Blue
I took my elderly parent on a cruise and we had several ports of call and a lot of unknown terrain in the future. If your elderly parents are anything like mine, they can be very stubborn when it comes to what they can and can't do. While yes, they can walk "just fine" and don't "need any help", to me this was more about energy conservation. I had resigned myself to bringing a wheelchair and a walker for her when I found this chair. I bought this chair based on the review from E. Gail Chandler which she had some great pics of her mom on vacation. I thank her wholeheartedly because it was a game changer. My only concern was that her momma was a tiny thing and my mom is a bit more sturdy. I figured what the heck. I bought this product in blue and lovingly named it "Optimus Prime". The first thing that struck me was how light weight it was. A huge difference from the standard lightweight wheelchairs (which aren't that lightweight, BTW) and how small it could be folded down. We took it for a few test drives before the cruise to the local mall and it performed brilliantly. The nicest part of the product was the hybrid feature. My mom could start out using a walker on the rough cobblestone or gravel terrain, and then sit in her own chariot once we got to flat land or a museum or whatever. Instead of having to bring two separate pieces of equipment, we got everything we needed in one. We put it in the trunk of sedan taxi's in Russia, water taxi's in Copenhagen, and even brought it aboard a dinner cruise in Paris with ease. The study construction withstood the cobblestones of Prague, the uphill terrain of Estonia, and the muck of rainy weather in Stockholm. Some suggestions: for ease of transport I always popped the legs and wheels off because it made it super small. I also never inserted the safety screws. Yeah, yeah, don't judge. Gravity was going to keep the wheels splayed out and quite honestly it was a super pain in the butt and took way too much time to have to out them in and take them out with every use. You will need to adjust the back when you transfer from walker to transport chair. The handles and the back of the chair need to be higher as a wheelchair, otherwise the strap is across the lower back and super uncomfortable. BTW, it fit into a large duffel bag, but NOT a large hard sided suit case. Because this is a transport chair, it doesn't have the large stabilizing wheels. On the cruise ship there were bumps where the seams of the carpet came together were covered with elevated brass. I nearly launched my mom out of the chair. Take bumps backwards. I should also note that I bought one for my dad once we figured this was a good purchase, but had to order a different brand. Total piece of crap. The back wheels looked uneven from the get go, like they were pointing out, and after a few ports of call, they finally sheered off on a long flat straightaway. We didn't even a bump. So these products are not all created equal. In the end my 78 year old mother who has about 2-3 hours in her before nap time, did full days with no complaint, including a full tilt morning till evening back to back days of tours in one port. Even the tour guide said that most 60 year olds can't hang the second day. I'm including pics of my mom using the chair. I'm also including a pic of this thing in the pile of luggage. The wheels and legs had been popped off and it is the side view, but still, kinda impressive. Look for the long blue metal pieces on the left of the car. BTW, my 6' father had no issue using this as well. My mom is 5'1". ... show more

  • Still working after four years of use.
Color: Titanium
Bought this for my Mom. I needed it to be compact and light enough to put in my car—it met my needs well. Mom was more ambulatory when it was first ordered and we used it mainly for car trips to the doctor visits, meals, or shopping. Last year Mom became seriously ill from a string of infections and became bed bound. Therapy and healing allowed her to be able to walk again, but her energy level (age 90) decreased and she would tire quickly if we were out. The transfer chair portion saved her exhaustion from walking and we could push her so she could enjoy being out. Only issue we had was one round screw part came off in a parking lot (we traveled a lot one day) and I didn’t see/hear it fall. I managed to find a screw to make it work and it’s still a beast of a rollator/transfer chair. It’s worth every penny of the price. I never thought we would need the transfer portion of the chair, but I’m so glad we chose this chair. It’s well-made, light enough to pick up, despite heavy use still looks great, and practical for anyone who needs safety walking. ... show more
