  • Works well within its design specifications
I wanted a fish locator that was compact, lightweight, portable, didn't require an expensiver or heavy separate battery, & didn't cost a fortune. Top of the line locators (with GPS & cameras & all the toots and whistles) all require 12-volt batteries. In a big fishing boat, you just hook them into the boat's electrical system. But who wants to carry a 40 pound battery in a small boat or canoe (or to spend over $100 for a "lightweight" 8 pound battery designed by the top manufacturers)? So far, my Lucky Model Y2020-CT does its job: accurate depth to bottom (or bottom's weed cover), depth of schools of fish between the boat and the bottom, guestimate of water temperature, hands free use (it does have a wire from the unit hanging around my neck on a lanyard & the transducer that's over the side of the boat). You really do need to read the manual, & you should really check out online video reviews that describe its limitations. I find that it's a great addition for those of us who don't sink a ton of money into their tackle & fishing equipment. ... show more

  • LUCKY wireless fish finder
Works pretty good to let you know if there are fish in the area. Of course, the fish are always moving. But at least it gives you an idea. It's easy to use. We use it for our kayak when fishing. I like how it tells the depth of the water, the temp of water, too. I like that you can use it wired or wireless. & wireless works pretty good. I like the container it comes with so you can keep everything together & protected. Overall, we're satisfied with it. ... show more

  • Everything works well and feels like quality
Everything that needs to work works well. The only issue I have is with the carrying case actually. It is difficult to close because of a misalignment issue and the quality of plastic is rubbish. Something nice is that they tried to make the case with a water seal for rain which is a nice touch if it weren’t for the other issues. I simply store the gear in a bag and it is fine so as far as an area to cut corners that is a good one. I like everything else. Recommend the product. Enjoy fishing with your lucky finder. ... show more

  • Excellent Customer Service
I bought the Lucky Fish Finder and it worked well but I had a problem with condensation. When I got home from my trip I contacted Luck on a Sunday night. Within hours if had a response. They tried to help me solve the problem and within a few days they decided to send me a new fish finder. I had it well within time for my next trip and the the new fish finder worked perfectly. The fact that they went out of there way to solve my problem so quickly is perfect example of great customer service. ... show more

  • Good customer service and refund.
This past Fall I purchased the Yellow $39 LuckyLaker depth and fish finder model that was not waterproof. It worked fine with no problems at all. However, it stopped functioning after I started using it in salt water. Salt is really hard on things. I was attempting to use this more expensive waterproof unit the same way on my tri-Hull kayak . I had altered my kayak to accept the transducer. With this unit I could mount the transducer in same scupper hole because the transducer was the same size as the less expensive model. In order to do that I had to remove the yellow float. In the process the yellow plastic float was destroyed. I also removed the bracket on the transducer so it would fit in the scupper hole. However, everything else was undamaged and worker. BUT not very well! For whatever reason this more expensive unit could not find and maintain a hold on the bottom. It was constantly giving false bottom readings. I adjusted the sensitivity all the way down to one, its lowest setting. That seemed to help. Sill, only occasionally would give the correct bottom reading. When it did, it would only last for a few seconds until it started searching again. I fish in the Bay Waters of Ocean City Maryland. I chose this more expensive unit because of it being waterproof and usable in salt water. The units itself was made very well, had nice color display and appeared to be water and salt proof. The bottom here is sand and should be easy to read. The deepest spots are only about 20 ft. Mostly it's between 5 and 10 ft where I fish. However, this unit was consistently giving readings of 60, 70, 85, 95 sometimes over 100 ft. I figured the signal must be so strong that it was echoing off the bottom of the kayak. Hence those high readings. That's why I turned the sensitivity all the way down. When that didn't completely fix the problem, I was thoroughly disappointed. I don't know why but that problem never happened at all with the cheaper unit. I spent two whole days mounting and trying to make this fit in my kayak. I REALLY wanted it to work! However, it just would not give accurate bottom readings. So I returned the unit even though I had altered the transducer somewhat and destroyed the float. I read that if there was damage that it may be a partial refund. I understood that and that's what I was hoping for. To my surprise and delight, I was given a full refund. Although I was unhappy with the unit I was very happy with the way they refunded me. ... show more

  • Great fish/depth finder
This is a neat, compact fishing tool. Running wires for a fish/depth finder was not going to be easy in my boat, so I was looking for something more portable and easy to set up. This fit the bill and with a decent price. I also bought a clamp to put the transducer on my trolling motor rather than it just be floating because I move while fishing. This worked perfectly for me and was a good way to know depth of the water where I was trolling. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a portable fish/depth finder. ... show more
