After my new shelter dog demolished a large wire crate, I found this one and feel so fortunate. I can leave her without worrying about her getting out because she chewed her way through. It was fairly easy to put together, better if you have two pairs of hands, makes it more simple. I would buy it again and def would recommend it to someone looking for a sturdy, well made crate, meant to last. I wrote the prior review shortly after receiving the crate. I still like the crate very much as it's extremely sturdy. However the screws for locks? That has not worked out well with my recent adopted pup pup who is very crate anxious. She has managed to loosen the screw and get out of the small bottom door. Is anyone else experiencing this , and if so, how are you rectifying this issue? ... show more

This thing is great! My pitbull has escaped from a wire crate before but can’t get out of this one, even when he’s really anxious and tearing stuff up (don’t worry, he no longer sleeps with a bed in the crate). He is a large dog, about 70lbs, and has long legs. I got the 36” but if I got another I would size up. He fits but can’t fully stretch out (as seen in the picture). Some things I really like: 1. The crate slats are wide so his paws don’t completely slip through the cracks. I’ve seen some crates with thin slats and I think that would be really uncomfortable for him. 2. Durable - he has tried biting the bars and has only succeeded in scratching the metal. Nothing is bent. 3. The pan under the crate is awesome because I don’t have to worry about him tearing it up while also catching any mess he might make. Some notes: 1. It’s very heavy and kind of ugly. It’s disrupted my comfy cozy vibe but it’s worth it. The wheels unlock fairly easily so you can roll it wherever. 2. The latches have a screw so they are unmovable. This is great because if they move around a lot the latches can come undone. 3. He has 💩 in there before and it’s kind of a pain to clean up because of the bars.. but the pan underneath is helpful. I would highly recommend! It’s been such a relief knowing he can’t get out or hurt himself trying. ... show more

I got this kennel for my 2 month old husky German Shepard mix. She’s small now, but I needed something she can grow into. The reason I went with this one and not just a cheap kennel is because she has pretty severe separation anxiety. I’m trying my best to train her out of it now while she’s young, but I have a deep down inside feeling it’s gonna be a lasting struggle with her. So with that being said I needed something strong and durable as she ages and grows. This things heavy, I’m glad it had casters on the bottom, it makes moving it around easy. The casters also have locks on them so it doesn’t roll around while she’s inside causing a scene. Assembly was tricky. I did it alone, having a second person would be beneficial and helpful. A tip for anyone assembling it themselves, get yourself a rope or string so you can tie the folding sides together while you get the top put into place. Otherwise assembly is pretty easy, just 8 bolts total that go on top and then the casters on the bottom. Everything else is already put together. So far it seems really durable. I think this kennel will hold up pretty well years down the line. The only issue I have with it is the latches. They’re kinda…meh. I feel like my dog will be able to figure them out pretty quickly. I’m gonna have to brainstorm a better way to latch it, because I know it’s not gonna last long before she figures them out. Aside from that, it’s great. I can’t really use it for her at the moment. I tried putting her in and observing how she did in it, and on the back side (opposite of the door) the space between the two bars on the end is bigger than the rest of it all. It also just so happens to be big enough for her to put her head through and get stuck. That was a big panic lol. Luckily I was able to get her head back through rather quickly. So I’m holding off putting her in it for at least another few weeks when she’ll grow big enough that can’t happen anymore. I’m glad I put her in to observe for a few minutes and didn’t just leave her for a few hours and left the house. That could’ve potentially been bad if I had. ... show more

My 70 lb shepherd mix is an escape artist when I leave the house. I would be leave and come home with him waiting for me at the door, wagging his tail with only to find his aftermath (shredded shirts, packs of bread, potatoes and any other food that he could reach off the counter eaten). I turned the old crate around so the door was against the wall thinking he wouldn't be able to get out. That was working and I was going to return this because I figured I would just do that, but then I came home and he had pushed his way out with the door against the wall and I had to keep this. I've been using it a couple weeks now and he's hasn't getting out which has been great. It's much larger than my previous flimsy wire cage and very sturdy and well built. It's very heavy duty so it's a two person job to assemble it but very easy to assemble. It seems larger than my last one which is good so he can stand up easier and move around. The only reason I'm giving it four stars is because the screws to lock the crate are very small and if I'm not careful it will fall out and then I've got to find where it went. They should have some sort of washer or something to stop the screw from coming out completely. But other than that this is a great investment. ... show more
