The media could not be loaded. I picked this up to use this Christmas. I have other smart lights similar to this from another manufacturer but I wanted more lights so I decided to give these smart lights a try because they are more economical. The 200 light set comes with a power supply and a manual. The manual contains the QR code to download the app that you can use to control the lights within your Wi-Fi network. There is also a button on the power supply that you can use to turn the lights on and off and also change to different display modes. The app allows for many more modes and some customization that the controller button does not provide for. I used the manual for the QR code, installed the app, and plugged in the lights. For the most part, the set up was pretty simple. I like that these lights are very bright and they seem very well-made. The instruction manual is pretty basic. It provides information regarding some functions, but it is not overly thorough. There are many modes that you can use to display different light colors and patterns. To execute the different modes, you simply click on the picture of what you want in the app and it will display in the lights. There is also a function that allows you to change the color of the lights by clicking on a pattern display within the app. You select the color that you want then you select the representative dot in the picture that you’re looking at and the light will change to that color. Pretty cool, however, I didn’t see any way to save this custom pattern. There are a lot of dots to press and it would be nice to store the patterns you creat so you don’t have to recreate it each time you change to a different light pattern. My other light set allows you to save the pattern that you have created as well as the capability to add different lighting effects. Unfortunately, this smart light set from Loycco does not have these options. Overall, this light set is bright and colorful just not that customizable.     • One of the more complex RGBic offerings I've run into.
I need to mess around with these more; but I'm pretty happy with what I've encountered so far. I thought these might be a new kind of tiny WS2812B or similar; but interestingly they use a 2-wire protocol where the data signal is sent over the power wires. It doesn't look like anyone has deeply figured out the protocol, so unfortunately it's not immediately hackable with external controllers as far as I have discovered. That said, the app for it seems to do a pretty good job of letting you make custom patterns and light designs. I hope someone figures out how to use these with ESP32 and/or Arduinos because the form factor has a lot of potential compared to standard RGBic strips. ... show more

With the versatility and flexibility they offer, these are a great part of my Halloween display outside. It wil just tak a few changes inn the color pallet and they will work just fine for the hangover to the outdoor Christmas display. The app adds so much versatility and I can see using them for 4th of July as well. In the meaantime I will use them around the patio after the holidays are over and the snow is gone. ... show more

This Christmas light set can be controlled using an app, and the patterns can be directly controlled through a smartphone. It's a long-awaited Christmas tree lights my kids have been asking for. It appears to be of good quality, reusable, and brings warm memories.
