  • Good camera backpack to protect you and your equipment
Size: BP 500 AW II Color: Black
Holds a lot of equipment when walking very comfortably. I was surprised that my back wasn't hurting after carrying around all my equipment, some of its pretty heavy. Like all backpacks you really have to take it off to access anything in the bag even if the advertising says you can just swing it around on the hip belt and open it without taking the pack off. I like that the bag opens from the back, where the should strap are, instead of the front. If you have to set it down someplace muddy or whatever, and least you won't have to put the muddy side on your back and the outer shell is smooth and easy to clean. ... show more

  • Great for my Fuji X-series system
Size: BP 200 AW II Color: Black
I bought this camera pack in a rush since a rental pack was too large to get into an event I was attending. It's great for my Fujifilm X-T3 with a 10-24mm, 18-55mm, and 55-200mm. I even used it with a Fujinon 100-400mm zoom in place of the 55-200mm for photographing an air show. I love how the pack can be rotated forward with only the waist belt holding it on. It makes the main gear easily accessible without taking it off. The only complaint I have is that the waist belt is so narrow. If it were double the width and padded, I'd give this camera pack a 5-star rating in relation to the gear I need to carry. It's too soon to give a durability rating, I've only used for three outings so far. ... show more

  • Great for keeping gear safe and work - Flipside 500 AWII
Size: BP 500 AW II Color: Black
I bought it to fit two Nikon D700 (1 gripped) a Nikon D3s with a Nikon 80-200 attached, Nikon 35mm 1.4, Tokina 16-28 2.8, 24-120 f4, and a 50mm 1.8D, an M1 MacBook air and accessories, all fits great and with no hassle to do, get and work in politics photojournalism, wouldn't use it in a demonstration as it is huge and bulky to work on crowded spaces. ... show more

  • Waaaaaay different than any of the reviews I watched
Size: BP 400 AW II Color: Black
OK. Here is my impression of the LowePro Flip-side 400 AW II. It is only my impression and not criticism. First, this is not my first LowePro camera bag or backpack. As with my other LowePro gear, the materials used are second to none. They're top quality. My favorite part of the bag is how the tripod mounts... very secure. The side pockets are a little tight but I'm sure they'll take a water bottle. I've been shooting for over 40 years. My opinion is based on the many bags and backpacks I've owned over those years. So, here goes... This bag, while versatile, was not made to efficiently carry a larger DSLR. I'm referring specifically to the D850. I was very excited to get this bag but when it arrived, my first thought was, "This is it?!?" I grabbed my gear and started rearranging the ample compartment dividers. The pack does not have the depth for big glass. even just one. I took one look at my 300mm f/2.8 and chuckled. Maybe next time. I then tried my 80-200mm on the D850. If I take the small bag out, it barely fits lengthwise, and I have to sacrifice lens storage at the lens hood end or leave the hood behind. Now, using a medium prime lens on the camera gave me space for several other lenses. I could get four smaller prime and two compact zooms in there. That was cool. But here's the thing. My 850 sits too high to place a laptop or iPad in without the top of the prism and the laptop vying for space- it's a tight fit when zipping it up, as I have to pinch the zipper closed to secure the back. And the whole flip-side thingy? Do not trust this gimmick unless you have a firm grip underneath the pack. Nobody in their video reviews pointed that out. The weight of a full-sized DSLR is just too heavy and the bag buckles at the waist. Thanks for the warning, guys! :-D Now, after I sat and looked at the bag for a while, I decided to pack my other gear. I took the Nikon stuff out and placed my Leicas and their lenses plus my Fuji and the two lenses for that, a flash, a GoPro Hero 9 and mounts, and finally, my iPhone tripod mount. Now THAT fit perfectly, with room to spare. I have extra lens caps and body caps as well as all the extra batteries and chargers I need. They also do not impede closing the bag while the computer or iPad is stored. So for me, it was just an OK purchase. I give the bag a solid 4 for medium mirrorless cameras plus a lot of gear, but a three for the largest of DSLR's. I will not trust my bigger gear in this bag. My only advice is this... if you're buying this for a full size DSLR like the D850 (it's a beast even without the battery grip) you my want to consider a bigger backpack... and not a Flip-side! ... show more

  • Answers to the burning questions
Size: BP 400 AW II Color: Black
I had so many questions about this bag, especially if it was the right size for my gear. Quick "about me": I was looking for a bag I could use as a carry-on for traveling. I want to keep all my essential gear with me at all times, ive had the TSA steal equipment from me before. My review below will be different from other reviews, I will attempt to answer specific questions about function and sizing. For my photos, I stuffed everything I would need for a vacation with a mix of landscape and street photography. You could easily carry 3 lenses and an extra body (figure an ultra-wide, standard, zoom + back up APS-C), in my example, I brought an ultra-wide 14mm f/2.8 for astrophotography. Skip to the bottom to see my equipment list.

Review: How large is the waist strap? Am I too big? 56” waist size MAX. However, you would want to wear this around your stomach/abdomen area, not your waist. If you wear this bag too low, it makes it awkward to reach the equipment. I am 5’11”, 300lbs with a 46” waist and a 56” stomach. (yep I literally just fit this bag). Can I fit my 15” laptop?
Yes, but it can’t be thicker than a MacBook Pro. This means you can’t have a clam shell case or sleeve. It will obviously fit smaller than 15” and slightly thicker laptops if smaller than 15” This bag will not fit anything bigger than 15”
Can I fit my 10” Tablet in the tablet slot? Yes, in fact, the 10.5” iPad Pro fits but I would not go any larger than that. It will fit with a clam shell case, but not a thick “otter-box” style case. I would not try to shove anything larger than 10.5” into this slot. What about my iPad Pro 12”? Yes, in the laptop compartment, not in the tablet slot. Is it practical to walk around with the laptop in the bag while Shooting? Absolutely not. You can, but it’s a lot of extra weight and may cause some stress on the laptop. Your device is definitely safe for travel, but it would be better to leave your laptop and tablet behind while shooting. If you are carrying less equipment than I am, you might feel better around going around carrying it. Is this an accepted Carry-on for airline travel? Yes When the bag is on a table, can you open the flap 180º and leave it open?
Yes the flap opens completely and will not get in your way while loading your bag on a table.
 Is the waist belt removable?
No, its sewn in place. You don’t have to strap yourself in every time, but it’s always there. Can i fit a zoom larger than 200-400mm, or even 500mm?
I think you can get away with 500mm at the most, but thats after removing the top “bag” section at the top. What I have in my bag (In the photos): Canon 6D Mark II Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM II (WITH HOOD) Canon 16-35mm f/4 L IS USM (WITH HOOD) Canon 50mm f/1.4 USM Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 Canon Speedlite 470ex AI BlackRapid Cross Shot Camera sling (4) 70mm ND Filters (4) 58mm ND Filters Canon Battery Wall Charger Extra lens caps/body cap Rubber collapsable lens hood Rogue Light Bender Leather pocket notebook Tripod Hardware Manfroto Element Traveller (Not shown, but fits outside the bag in designated tripod holder) Microfiber cloth 2018 Macbook Pro 15" (Without any cases) 2016 iPad Pro 10.5" ... show more

  • Everything I Need
Size: BP 300 AW III Color: Black
Great size for a camera and five lenses. It will not hold a 70-200mm 2.8 attached to the camera body, but otherwise, it does a great job of holding all of my gear and protecting it at the same time.
