I was concerned based on the reviews that the material would be weak, but it is a relatively thick canvas and should not be a problem for most dogs. The size is great for my 40 lbs dog. I have a comment rather than complaint and that is to say be sure your dog is willing to walk into it. It is amazing to me that this pop-up kennel packs up so small but unfolds to a decent size. My dog Gracie, a 20 inch long shorthair Chihuahua, has plenty of room to move around inside of it. It almost could double as a portable playpen for a small dog. The door has two decent quality zippers (one on each side) to close it. And to open it, you pull the zippers up, roll up the door and clip it to the Velcro tab at the top of the doorway. The sides have nice vented windows you can see in and out of. The walls are made of a light but rip-resistant vinyl, which is fine for a well behaved pups but might be able to be ripped/chewed through by naughty doggies. I put a cushy throw rug on the floor of this kennel (the floor is as thin as the walls to allow for folding), and my dog just took to it like her personal home right away. I put a big fat pillow in this, and put it in my cat’s outdoor enclosed patio. She loves sleeping in it. As far as a traveling kennel, it’s quite hopeless. You can’t lift it up, with kitty inside. There are no handles! The bottom definitely needs to be more reinforced if you do manage to carry it to the car with kitty inside. I bought it for travel. It fits well in the backseat, but moving it to and from house or motel room is nearly impossible. I’m going to have to purchase a better soft kennel for her to travel in. They do make them. I had one once. I thought this would be that. But no, its meant only to be stationary. ... show more

Amazing!!! Big, lightweight! So easy to collapse and set aside! I use it when we visit grandma and grandpa in CA!! Just leave it in their closet and when we get their the babies have a bed they love and feel safe in!!!

Worked well when it worked. After a few months the thing started fraying and falling apart. Washing it is also a chore. Giving it 3 stars because it folds up easily and is ample space for a 50 lb dog in the car for a short drive. It lost 2 stars for the durability and flimsy materials. Edit: I have purchased two of these each one is a different model. The first model I purchased did not have a zipper opening on top. That review is located at the bottom. New model review (with the zip top opening): This is the one I should have purchased from the beginning. This is perfect for what I’m using it for which is my cats litter box. My cat doesn’t like litter boxes with lids on them (I imagine because it’s cramped and dark in there) so I put the litter box in here instead and line the bottom with pee pads to catch any mistakes and it works like a charm. It also works well to keep the fallout litter contained and now I don’t have litter all over the place all the time. First model review (without the zip top opening) This would be perfect if the sides unzipped, I didn’t realize that until after it was delivered. I use this type of product for litter boxes for my cats! I purchased this one because I needed a rectangle size to fit in my laundry room. It’s more of a pain to put the litter box in/out than the other larger one with zip off top I have, but it works well with a diy adjustment. Theres only one side to this that zips open/closed. That is the side I put the litter box on, and I keep it zipped closed so litter isn’t tracked everywhere. Then I cut an entrance for the cat the other end that is several inches from the bottom so it keeps the litter inside. I line it with puppy pads in case there are any accidents. I scoop and change the litter by unzipping the other side and it’s super easy and helps tremendously with litter tracking. It’s like having an extra large covered litter box. (Cats can sometimes be territorial of the litter area and I have two cats who fight constantly and they sometimes protest a regular covered litter box) This has resolved the issue and the cats like going in there now. Docked stars for the lack of access points resulting in me having to cut one end open, but it worked out. Any litter inside easily vacuums up with my Dyson /wand attachment. Our dog has an injured ligament on her back leg and I wanted something that would help confine her but was soft so I could put it on the floor near me but pick it up and move it around so it was near me. I can even put this on my bed. I just laid a towel on the bottom and put it on a soft surface like carpet. It popped right open but I can also fold it flat. I prob would not leave her in this when we leave the house. The zipper closure is very flimsy and I'm sure if she wanted to she could chew her way out. In her case she needs to be confined in something I know she can't escape from when we are not home. I especially liked this because of the large size. I wanted her to be able to stretch out flat and have plenty of extra room. She is a 17lb westie but I think this would work for larger dogs as well. When I put it down I put her towel in it and a couple toys and she climbed right in. She really seems to like it and so do I. ... show more

Overall, let me say our pup absolutely loves it, however, he found a way to chew the zipper day ONE (technically a user-fault, for stepping away for 2.5 seconds). The durability falls short, but in many ways you cant expect the product to last extremely long with large puppy breeds. Our puppy has found his happy place to be within the confines of the kennel so thats a plus. The assembly was fast, just a *pop* and the kennel is ready :) cleaning has been easy, enzyme cleaner, and a spray bottle with a damp warm washcloth does just the trick! ... show more
