The media could not be loaded. This was a fun project. I have built several miniatures and a few book nooks now. This one's directios are a little harder to follow but I just found a video on yourtube and I with it and the directions I really didn't have any problems. This kit, like most of them, does not come with a dust cover, however if you message the company they will kindly send you one for free. If you want a dust cover you need it during the build, NOT, after it's completed, so message them at the same time you make your purchase. They have very fast response time if you consider they are in a different time zone and their shipping is fast if you take into consideration the dust cover is coming from China. They are very friendly and helpful. I just loved building this Magic house book nook. The way some of the wooden pieces actually bend was fascinating and I had never seen any wooden pieces cut in such a way in any of the other kits I have built so far. These are not for younge children. I would say older teens and adults. Some mini kits I struggle with and I have built a few. They do make great gifts once built too. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This book nook was super fun to make, it is very intricate and the product quality is great. Some of the parts were labeled incorrectly, but you’ll figure as you go! Great purchase!

There were 12 pieces mislabeled. The instructions referred to pieces, but not their numbers and they described the piece so vaguely I couldn't figure out what they were talking about. The steps were out of order and they were REALLY IMPORTANT steps. After assembling a bunch of books, there were about twenty book stickers left over with no corresponding wooden forms that went with them. And then I had a bunch of paper books and wall stickers that weren't referred to in any steps. They said to put poster stickers up where we wanted, but there was no way to tell what would be covered up or be partially covered. The glue they include was awful. It left long strings like a glue gun and those were a nightmare to remove. I had to buy glue separately. The whole thing looks like a mistake. To add insult to injury, I have to take it to a brick-and-mortar store and wait in line instead of using an amazon drop locker, of which there are at least four in a ten mile radius of my house. Hours and hours of time wasted. Even the cheap ones from Hobby Lobby are better than this and those are absolute rubbish. ... show more

Turned out nicely! Studying the instructions helps. The only fit issue was the 2nd floor walkway didn't fit, so I got out a little file and filed it down till it fit. Everything got glued down, too, so it all stays in place.

I was so excited to get this kit and I enjoyed the process of building it so much. It comes with everything you need. The instructions are actually very well thought out and detailed and you should follow them exactly. Sometimes you really need to look at the picture to determine which side faces which way, but you should trust the instructions and glue when it tells you to. I did have a couple issues, but with something as detailed as this, I'm ok with it for the most part. When putting the two sides together, I had an alignment issue and had to use a pocket knife to saw a tiny bit off so it would fit better. This could probably be attributed to my not lining things up correctly when affixing it to the panel. But easy fix. I also got confused with the battery piece - I'm not entirely sure I put it on correctly according to the picture, but I put it on the way that it made sense for me to do so and my way seems to have worked. It's possible that the part was changed and doesn't exactly match the picture in the directions. That being said, I can't consistently make the lights work and I don't know if it's the part or if it's user error. I can sometimes get them and sometimes not. That's my biggest complaint. However, I did get the whole thing assembled and I stretched it out to about 2 weeks, but in all, it would take about 3 hours or so, depending on how your patience and concentration goes. The point is to enjoy the building and creating and it really accomplished that for me. I will definitely be getting others. The detail is amazing and the quality is great. It's enough of a challenge to make it feel like an accomplishment but not too difficult to make it frustrating. And it's a super cool thing to stick on your bookshelf and enjoy. ... show more

    • What a disappointment.
Some of the pieces were mislabeled and others missing from the instructions. Worse, the pieces snapped together but didn’t stay together and repeatedly separated requiring reassembly. As I attempted to attach the front, final piece, the entire thing fell apart. Short of gluing every piece, I don’t see how this could possibly work. ... show more
