I recently bought this carrier and it's fantastic. It's the perfect size for my medium cat, providing comfort without feeling cramped. The carrier is airline-approved, a major plus for flying, and also great for car trips and vet visits. The quality is impressive,durable, with a waterproof surface and breathable mesh sides. My cat loves the soft wool mat inside. I particularly appreciate the easy access for my cat and the secure zippers that keep her safe. I put my calmest cat in this carrier. She didn't mind it a bit. I had to wave at her through the top to get her to poke her head out. She didn't try to get out, but I'm under no illusions that my more rambunctious cats wouldn't fight like crazy to get out that hole in the top. You can pull it tight and it doesn't easily release, but it eventually does. There's no way I'd trust it to hold my cat unsupervised. I wish there was a way to close it more securely. I do like that it's collapsible. It's pretty sturdy when you open it. The bottom pad is firm and it has a zipper to remove it for washing. It's easy to carry. It would probably be ok to take a cat to the vet if you are watching them, but I can't imagine going on an airplane with it. ... show more

I have a couple of senior kitties, and that's come with more frequent vet visits. My old soft carrier was falling apart, so I wanted to find something relatively lightweight and easy to carry. This fits the bill, and it has some solid features that I appreciate. Plus, my gray version of this carrier has cute little ears along one side! The bottom has a padded insert that removes with velcro, and the cover of the insert has a zipper so you can remove it to wash it. It has both a shoulder strap and handles so you can carry it comfortably. And, the hole at the top can be tightened enough so kitties can't get out, which I was a little concerned about since the info picture shows a kitty who could totally escape. My kitties are 8 and 10 lbs, and they each fit with more than enough room, so it would definitely work for kitties a bit larger. The size also would easily fit under the seat in front of you in most aircraft. However, in some older planes, when they added power ports or entertainment screens, they installed underseat equipment boxes. They take up a lot of the underseat room for certain seats. While not ideal, you can squish the sides of this to about 10.25" (see picture) and likely could cram in it under one of these seats bereft of room. I checked one airline's pet carrier policy, and for a soft-sided carrier, it's 17" x 11" x 9.5", so this carrier exceeds that since it's 17.375" x 12" x 11" without squishing it. In my experience traveling with pets or sitting next to someone traveling with a pet, you'll have no problem if it fits under the seat, even if it exceeds the dimensions slightly. I would try to avoid the seats where you run into the power box issue if traveling with a pet, though. Fortunately, these power boxes are being phased out, but I still run into them often enough that I make sure my underseat bag is small enough, but I didn't knock off a star because you'll have this problem with the majority of pet carriers. If you have a really resistant kitty, you need to close the carrier very quickly, and this oval design means there are a few more inches to zip compared to a carrier with a smaller opening. I try to acclimate my kitties to their carrier so they don't express that terror, and already, mine have been "hiding" in this one and generally having a good time with it. ... show more

It looks exactly like the picture, and is solidly made. All the zippers are smooth, the frame is very sturdy and the straps secure. I like that there's the option to carry it by hand or over the shoulder, although I wish the shoulder strap were a tad longer so I could do cross body. I really like the peek-a-boo hole at the top. It's probably not the most practical thing, but it does make it easy to stick your hand in an comfort your pet. You just have to be careful to not open it too wide because it is very easy for them to jump out of that hole as well! I left it on the the floor open on both sides and my cats went in and around it exploring--something they never do with their standard carrier, so there's hope this one will be better when we have to go to the vet. TL/DR: Nice soft-sided cat carrier; doesn't need the drawstring access hole Pros: o Compact carrier o Cat is comfortable Cons: o Drawstring opening invites escape attempts I used this carrier to transport my cat to the vet. It's a solid choice for a carrier. However, I do not understand the purpose of the drawstring access hole for your cat to stick its head out. Once my cat has her head out, all she wants to do is escape, and if her head can squeeze through, she can get the rest of her body through. So I kept the drawstring tight, but would have preferred if it wasn't even there! -------- I'm honored to be included in the Amazon Vine program, and I work really hard to make these reviews and videos helpful.
