Music sounds great coming from the helmet and phone calls are crisp and clear. The lights on the back provide protection while riding and the turn signal function works as it should. This helmet is terrific, great fit, the lights have patterns and a remote for turning signals. However even better is the ability to connect via Bluetooth for music and calls.

A great helmet for the price. It's light weight, comfortable and has very good air flow. Yes, the speakers lack and are a bit tinny. Once you start your ride, you really don't notice it.     • Great functionality but sound quality is not great for music
This is my first "Smart" helmet. I did a fair bit of research to try and find a helmet that had as many features as possible, with consideration of cost as well. Based on the number of features, build quality, ease of use, and overall effectiveness, and cost, I feel that this helmet is a good value and a worthwhile investment. The helmet charges easily with the included USB cable, although it uses a propriety cable instead of a micro-USB, type C, etc. If you lose the cable, you will need to order one from Livall. The helmet powers on easily and gives audible confirmation when powered on. I had no issue pairing it with my Adroid Marshmallow phone. Playing audio through the helmet is as easy as using any bluetooth headset or speaker. You can skip and pause audio tracks using the buttons at the front of the helmet or use the included remote. If you don't want or need the remote, the helmet will still operate, but without the turn signal feature. The lights work as advertised: Automatically activate based on light conditions. Brake light illuminates when you're braking (after a short lag). Turn signals operate with the remote. They stay on for a fixed amount of time (just a few seconds) and then shut off. You will get audible confirmation via a beep sounds when they are on. If you need them to stay on longer than a few seconds, you'll need to tap the button again after it stops beeping. Helmet fits comfortably, although my head (at 58cm) fits somewhat snugly. They advertise it at up to 59cm, but I would not recommend it to anyone with greater than 58cm head circumference. Chin straps were a bit cumbersome to adjust, but the helmet fit well once I got them adjusted. The Bluetooth allows you to listen to music/audio, but it also supports phone calls. They claim that it has a wind-proof mic and that you can easily talk on the phone while riding. At the time of this review, I have yet to test this feature. I will update as necessary. Regarding audio sound quality: I will say that if your hope is to listen to music, it falls short. The sound is quite "tinny" with a lot of treble and basically no bass. I did not find it enjoyable for music. I do often like to put on a podcast during a ride, and for that, it's great. I can clearly hear dialog but also hear what's happening around me since the helmet uses speakers and does not plug my ears. To me, this trade-off is worth it. In conclusion, this helmet it packed full of features and is a decent value. Just don't buy it if you're an audiophile or if music sound quality (integrated into the helmet itself) is a must. ... show more

    • Buyers Beware!
Awesome bike helmet. It works flawlessly, with regard to the demand while riding in heavy auto/bike traffic. The only issue I take with this helmet, and I have expressed my grievance with the company. That obviously was not solved. So if you are familiar with the current battery technology, you know that batteries don't last for ever. Here is my issue. The rechargeable battery is not at this time replaceable. So when you finally have to deal, which could be years or not, with the battery you will have to throw the helmet away and buy another helmet to the tune of $139.00 or even more. Very poor engineering, and I will be a bit more cautious in the future. Here is the email chain: "I asked “Where is the battery compartment in the new helmet I just received? Livall BH60SE"......"The battery is located in the control unit."........."Please provide me with a pdf sheet on it’s replacement"......"This is how you change a control unit on the BH60SE".........."Thank you, but this is still inadequate. Please provide me with a detailed battery replacement procedure.".........."This isn’t possible as batteries are housed in the sealed in the control unit." You make your own decision. I have had the helmet which was replaced with this one for over twenty years, and that was while MT most of the time. Jed ... show more

    • Literally saved my son’s life

I purchased this product for the extras that came with it such as the blinkers, but it soon did much more than that. My son was riding his bike wearing the helmet when he was hit head on by an SUV. He was hit hard enough that he was unconscious when the ambulance arrived. He sustained a major break to his leg & a lacerated liver, HOWEVER, all scans were clear for any head injuries & the helmet didn’t even crack. All first responders were impressed by this helmet & the great job it did at protecting my son from anything happening to his head. Believe me when I say this, I don't often have the chance to impress my wife. However, I bought this helmet for her as a Mother's Day present and she absolutely LOVES this thing. If she could wear it to bed, she would. She uses all of the features except the walkie-talkie app. She doesn't know that I have secretly purchased my very helmet today. So that feature will soon be in use as well. I also have to help her set up the emergency feature. This is a well manufactured helmet. It has received certification from Australia's certifying body, which is not an easy thing to do. This is NOT a toy. It allows for hands free telephone use and music/podcast listening while cycling. The lighting in the rear of the helmet allows for increased visibility for night time riding. Super glad I made this Purchase! ... show more
