    • Nice piece but with some poor design choices and awful instructions
I've put together lots of furniture over the years, both cheap stuff in college and nicer stuff later, and this was by far the most annoying assembly. Basic features of all other furniture instructions are not present here—sides that have different texture/color are not marked as such in the instructions, and you're basically relying 100% on guesswork and the numbers on each piece. Except several of my pieces had no numbers on them, so you had to carefully study the hole pattern to figure out which piece you had and which way it should be oriented. Some of the assembly is also very counter-intuitive. For example, on a few pieces the holes containing the locking screws are UP, meaning they are visible in use, compared to every other piece I've assembled where the locking screws are on the undersides of things to stay hidden. There are also strange numbers of parts for some pieces. For example, the push-rods that push the doors open come with screws, but there are also other screws you are to use instead, so you end up with like twice the number of screws. There are a variety of other annoyances assembling this as well, but you get the idea. I was tired at the time I put this together, so maybe that's part of it, but this was a painful assembly. If you can get it together properly, it's a nice piece of furniture that seems solid and stable. But it's easy to screw up assembly given the poor instructions and everything else. If you're an expert at assembling or willing to spend a lot of time carefully studying hole patterns in the wood, give it a shot. Otherwise, I can't recommend this one. ... show more

    • Nice piece, but awful to assemble
I bought 2 of these and really love them now that they’re assembled. BUT, the directions are the absolute worst, as they only show pictures without specific instructions. You have to be acutely aware of which direction the pieces are facing because a lot of the assembly is upside down. And, just a word to the wise, the doors and the hardware will really tested your patience. Not only does each panel have specific hardware, they also need adjusting for them to line up and close correctly with the soft close feature. It took me two weeks between assembling the first and second one because I value my mental health 🤪 If you’re patient (and brave) enough to tackle the assembly it’s a really beautiful piece of furniture! I’m using both on either side of my fireplace and love how they finish off the space. They’re good quality for the price, I just won’t be volunteering to assemble another one. Ever. ... show more

Pros The finished product is nice and seems sturdy. With the exception of the doors not lining up perfectly, it looks really nice. Cons 1. Some pieces were mislabeled. 2. The instructions were horribly vague pictures with no written text, which made assembly frustrating and time consuming. One picture had seven pieces that needed to be put together but it did not specify the order. Both the above resulted in me having to disassemble and reassemble a few times. Parts were damaged; like the legs and inside the doors have black marks going across them. One of the doors does not fit correctly and screw holes are in the wrong place. The instructions were terrible. Very disappointed.

    • Impossible to put together
Do not buy this if you value your sanity. It’s insanely heavy and super hard to put together. The doors don’t hang right and are hard to open. You’re better off looking on IKEA.
