Because of that I have been looking for 3 things: 1) Lightweight - I want a true shell; 2) Armpit vents; 3) Fit to wear over my down coat and go over my hips. This jacket seems like a good one, but it didn't pass my criteria, so I returned it. For me, it's not a true shell. I think it will be too warm for a tropical climate. It would be fine for where I live, but I'm looking for something more versatile where I can wear it over my down coat in colder climates or wear it by itself in warmer climates. There aren't pit zips. The description probably said that somewhere, but I wasn't paying close enough attention. The fit seemed good enough. I am 5'6" and 194 lbs. I ordered an XL and it fit well. So this little jacket it's very light but can keep you pretty warn! I use it when it's really cold I put a sweatshirt then the jacket and it keeps me warn plus it's waterproof!! I did have to upsides from a Xlarge to a XXL and it fit ok but it fits well from every but a little tight on the breast 😆 but I make it work overall I like it alot will definitely recommend it!!! ... show more

This rain jacket is light, allows to dry fast. I've been using it at the jungle where the rain is heavy and is just perfect! The size is just how the chart says, make sure to check it before you buy! It kept me warm but since it didn't rain as was expected, I can't speak to the waterproof quality of this jacket. It fit nicely into the backpack I was using. The hood was easy to open and fit well. The pockets are nice size and the inside pocket was a good size for my phone. I bought an xxl. I usually wear an 18. I am 5’8”. The jacket is has enough room to wear a heavy sweater underneath. My only complaint is that the sleeves are a little long, but you can tighten the cuffs it is not a problem. I have yet worn it in the rain but I think it will be fine.

I’m used to Port Authority slickers - but my last “hundred-year-old” jacket was lost at an event. I must say that the weight of the shell material on the new jacket isn’t even in the same ballpark as the old jacket, but the fit and workmanship should make for a reasonable replacement.
