    • Learning experience
While I wasn’t really happy with how the mediums worked, I still really liked being able to get a sample set to try them for a decent price. The selection included in the kit is great for acrylic painting beginners, or people who don’t have much experience in using mediums. You are given a generous amount of each medium, and I was able to use them in several paintings. I was a fan of the white gesso and the clear gel medium. I thought the gesso was thick and buttery, and spread well. I liked how it covered as well. The gel medium was also useful. Great for glazing and creating body. The rest of them I felt has a weird consistency. The iridescent was really bad. Chunky, hard to spread, and I didn’t feel it was all that shimmery. It was more opaque than I had expected, and you can forget mixing it in with an acrylic paint color. While this didn’t provide me with mediums that I will use too much, I am happy that I was able to try them out before buying full sized containers. I’ve actually purchased a few of the mediums in the professional line instead of the basics. The professional line is of much higher quality than the basic. So if you didn’t like the mediums in this package, you might still like them if you buy the higher quality mediums. ... show more

First, I’m a Beginner Acrylic painter, and thought this box would be a great addition to growing hobby. It started as box set for Christmas and grown into a passion. So, know I’m not an expert painter but, here’s my thoughts. First, I researched this is a top acrylic paint brand. The price point is great for trying 4 different mediums at this size. I do compare to other craft stores (haven’t compared to any actual paint websites or paint supply stores - fyi). I would definitely buy it again and recommend it. Really works great! The only thing is, if you squeeze too hard it might pop the top of the bottle and come out that way. Other than that, perfect!

    • Half the price on Amazon than at the local craft store.
Partner is a prolific painter. Giant canvases with acrylic. He wanted to try these but they were nearly $40 at our local chain craft store. Bought for 17.48$ here and he was delighted. I cannot comment about the quality of the product yet.

I love liquitex in general it's affordable and good quality with their supplies. I never used these particular medium for paint but I purchased these and so far they have been super fun to use. I enjoy this set very much! It is great quality and great price. Im very impressed by the company. Irecieved the set one missing. Next day a box came with a duplicate tube, I wrote them and where as I appreciated another tube I asked is it would be possible to send me the one missing. I am nicely surprised at this starter set. Each tube is ample enough to get an idea on how I want to use it. I was expecting smaller samples but was really pleased to see the large size of each tube! Great product!
