  • Feels good so far
I've been sleeping on these for about a week now. I used to be enduring some awful drapey jersey style ones I thought would be nice, but have been waiting for them to wear out. This is hands down the most expensive set of sheets I've ever indulged in buying. They came wrapped and folded Very nicely in thick, smooth brown craft style paper, taped with sturdy brown paper tape. They had an unpleasing smell to them (a touch chemical like perhaps?) but my nose is very sensitive, so even though they say they're pre-washed I chose to wash them (I use all natural soap nuts). The smell was still there after washing unfortunately and is still there somewhat to this day. I am hoping it will fade completely not too long from now. I heard someone hung them out in the sun and it went away. There was a good 3/4 inch thick layer of lint in the dryer's lint trap by the time these were done. I have heard that hanging to dry linen is best, and I can see why now. I will try not to run them as long next time since I don't have a clothes line. They don't have the annoying slubby little nubs or whatever, at least not so many that I can find them easily. I would not immediately describe these as "soft". Many people would find that term misleading. They are not scratchy to me either, like some have said. I would call them somewhat "textured". I think (and hope) the texture will improve to a finer grade and may eventually become what I consider smooth or soft. I bought these to last a long time, so I can't complain that they're kind of textured due to being so sturdy. That just seems to be the nature of linen. They did have about 4 threads broken on one spot that looked like the weave had come loose but they didn't seem to be coming apart or anything so I left them alone. Sleeping impressions: I immediately noticed that I was warmer compared with my other sheets and the same blanket. This was good though because it has been very cold on the east coast here. The top sheet was incredibly generous. I folded it from top to bottom in half and am using it as a smaller rectangle so I don't get too tangled up in it. Plus it doubles the warmth. It has a nice medium sort of drape on the body. Not annoyingly drapey like Jersey but not as light as most polyester sheets. It also allows nice breathing for the body's moisture and I have not been uncomfortably hot or moist once since laying in them. The fitted sheet is generous enough, but the center does move around a bit since I am a tosser. This may not be an issue for most people. The corners seem to stay on just fine though and I just have to neaten the middle of it when I get up so it won't crease. Was it worth over $300? That remains to be seen in time. I truly hope it will be. If I have any future thoughts about it I'll try to remember to re-post. ... show more

  • Good sheets, way oversized pillowcases, lousy service
Size: Queen Color: Ivory
Marveling at the good reviews here. I can only imagine that these reviews were written by folks who don't know what good linen sheets really feel like. Save your money to spend just a little bit more, and get a whole lot more luxury. Compared to other linen sheets I've had, these sheets feel like rough straw - and I washed them, per other reviewer's recommendations, 4 times before sleeping on them. The pillow cases are unusable if you have standard size pillows. They are so long, that the ends flap about 4 inches beyond the end of the pillow. Contacted the company to see if it was a sizing error - maybe they sent me kings by mistake? But I didn't even get the courtesy of a response - even when I tried to contact them several times through their website. This was a very expensive lesson to learn - buy something at the bottom of its price range and get bottom of the price range quality. (other linen sheets which are beyond wonderful, can be slightly more to a lot more expensive). I will save my pennies so that my next purchase of linen sheets will be a happy one. This was not - in any respect - from quality to fit to service - NOT. Update - after I wrote this review I got an email from the company asking me to take it down. We went back and forth about their lack of previous responses and snooty, dismissive customer service. They never quite understood the issue - they were too busy being defensive to hear the point. A genuine apology would have been in order but it never came - just defensiveness. That said, I have washed the sheets a couple more times and slept on them for a few nights and I have to admit that I do now love them. The pillow cases are still ridiculously sized and I can either pay someone to resize them or mail them to linoto to resize them - what a pain. Time will tell whether they hold up - for this price of course they should - but we shall see. They are a decent weight so likely will hold up well. Another update, 2022- bottom Sheet ripped in two places and is now unusable. I have cared for these very expensive sheets in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations, they’ve just worn out after 6 years. Maybe I’m being unreasonable but I expected $500 sheets to last longer than 6 years. Would not buy this brand again. ... show more

  • Great customer service
I first bought a set of sheets from Linoto four years ago. A few months later I bought another set of linen sheets of another brand. I alternate between sets of sheets during the summer months, so each set gets used about two to three months of every year. At the beginning of this summer, I got out my Linoto sheets to put on my bed and found a sizable thin spot and hole had worn in the fitted sheet. I contacted Linoto, provided my information to them, expressed my disappointment in the product, and stated that I thought their sheets must be made from a short-staple linen fiber considering how the sheet had worn out and how the sheets produced tons of lint in the dryer. Other reviewers have noted the lint issue in the past. Jason at Linoto told me they had changed suppliers since I bought the sheets and the fabric was made of longer staple linen than in the past. He offered to send me a replacement fitted sheet even though I had had the sheets for four years. I thought this was exceedingly generous. I received the sheet and have washed it and put in on the bed. So far, the sheet hasn't produced as much lint in the dryer, so that's a good sign. It has the same texture and weight as the original sheet. Linoto sheets have a heavier weight and a coarser (as opposed to smooth) texture than most other linen sheets I have experienced, but this isn't a bad thing. In the summer, I can use the Linoto linen sheets alone and leave blankets off the bed. Linen softens the more it is washed and used, but even after only one washing, this new bottom sheet is plenty soft. If you want linen sheets because you love the dry, cool feeling of linen, then these sheets will give you that at an excellent price, and they are backed up with excellent customer service. ... show more
