The green part of the tunic and the hat is made from a rough felt or super thin fleece type of textured material, it feels cheap but looks nice and more like an actual tunic as opposed to your typical satiny slick materials normally used, my only complaint with this part is if you have pets everything sticks to it. So have a lint roller on hand. The cream colored neck/sleeves and blue "bracer" sleeves are the typical slick poly costume material and the "bracers" are nothing more than a solid blue color sleeve. All these along with the "chainmail trim" are sewn together to make a layered look. The cream neck and blue bracer sleeves are by far the cheasiest part of the costume, everything else including the chainmail trim looks nice. The boot covers are the best I've seen for a cheap costume. They are made of a pleather type material that does have a a good quality look to them and they go all the way around the leg in one solid piece. (Imagine a pleather boot with the soles cut out) No soles just an elastic strap on the bottom. (belts are of the same material mostly with some matching colored elastic in the back under the pouches for getting it on and off). I ordered a small for a toddler who normally wears a 4t. The sleeves are a bit long and the boot covers will need adjusted because they are long enough to cover my shoes much less a toddler. But overall it fits and looks nice, I am pleased with the purchase and can honestly recommend this costume. I would expect to pay around 50$ at least for this level of Quality. ... show more

My child loves playing Legend of Zelda and knew in July that he wanted to be Link for Halloween. Needless to say, he loves this costume. That being said, the sizing for this costume is all wrong. My child is 7 and is the size of a typical 7-8 yo. He wears a size youth small to medium in shirts (Hanes tshirt sizing) and 7 regular in pants (Old Navy sizing). We ordered the XL (14-16) and it fits him just right with super long sleeves that we roll up. Sword, shield, and pants are not included. My son is obsessed with Zelda and desperately wanted to be Link for Halloween this year. He is a tall and skinny 8 year old. After reading the reviews I bought the size Large. I'm glad I did. It fits him perfectly. And we just happened to have some pants that went perfect with the outfit.

As a mom looking for a Link costume, I realize price points and options are few. He does look like Link but a grey longs sleeve shirt under a green one may be just as effective. The costume is a very flimsy material. It looks like a $1 store costume. The green "felt" is unbelievably cheap looking. Your local Wal-M*** has costumes for less that are made better. The belt Velcro is already coming off- which was a complaint of other reviewers as well. I don't feel that I should need to sew seams and Velcro pieces after my son tries the costume on once. My kids like to wear their costumes and play, but this is one we will need to be cautious about. It does NOT come with pants. The boot covers are awesome. He does look like Link. My child couldn't wait to be Link! This costume only comes with the tunic, hat and boot covers. Had to purchase pants separately as well as shield and sword (and ears) Ended up being a pricey costume after all pieces were compiled. The tunic is a thin felt with velcro in the back. Not made to been reused for a long period of time but will last through Halloween or a cosplay. Not sure it was worth the money for the actual costume, but seeing how much my child liked it was worth it. ... show more

I bought the X-Large for my 9 (almost 10) year old. He is of average height, around 80 pounds. It fits. There isn't much room in this costume (it runs slim) and there isn't a ton of stretch. The arms are slightly long, but we can deal with that. I was hoping it would be a little roomier as we live in the midwest and Halloween is often chilly (sometimes snowy). The boot covers are also slightly longer than his feet (he wears a kid's 4), but I was worried if we had ordered a smaller size that it wouldn't fit. I do not think this would fit a husky child very well. All in all, it works for us, and I think this was the right size for us to purchase. I'd also like to note that the hat does not contain any wire to make it stick out like in the picture, but I think we can modify that on our own. I bought a medium for my 5 year old (42 pounds, 47 inches tall). It fits perfect, but is on the small side for him. I'm super glad I didn't order the small. When ordering, you should know it does not come with pants, a shield, or a sword.
