This mute is great! I’m a brass player but new to trumpet and wanted something that I could play in my apartment and not make my neighbors upset. This silencer does an incredible job of allowing me to actually play as long as I want with not a ton and vibrancy and noise! I’d say it’s about a 70% reduction in noise. It’s a got a cool jazzy whine to it and in the higher registers really comes on brightly. It does create some back pressure but the omature feels natural and has allowed me to practice at all times of the day. It’s a good looking mute that hasn’t broken down on the cork yet but I’ve only had it two weeks so I’ll update if it changes. ... show more

Well built and easy to insert into the bell of the trumpet (It just stay there, without falling). It is easier to blow than other mutes I have. It does not change the pitch, as far as I know and hear. Con: It is not as silent as other mutes I have, but I love it :-)

I got this because I lost my Best Brass one and thought it might be a less expensive replacement. It’s not. The intonation is terrible in the upper register. It’s small, it fits nicely in your bell, and it reduces volume nicely, but pitch is terrible.
