  • Surprisingly good! Shoots outside it's class!
I will start out this review on day 1 of owning the device. During my ownership, I will be updating this review to let you know how I feel about it as I use it. Day one: So far, this thing is great for the price. I got it installed easily, with only a couple issues. Initially, the unit was quiet and one of the speakers sounded like it was dead. I pushed the male end of the headphone jack into the female end really hard and heard a positive snap. Apparently, there is a little waterproofing ring that requires a little extra force to pop into place. I put the speakers into the speaker slots on my helmet and that was my mistake because they didn't line up with my ears at all, which is why it sounded quiet. Once I fixed this, it actually sounded really nice and loud. I'm an audio snob, so I'll say it wasn't great but A LOT better than I expected. Bass is somewhat present, but treble is the ruling king in the speakers. With a little EQ adjustment, I got it to sound decent, something I wouldn't mind listening to for a couple hours, and would find plenty of enjoyable. Some notes on the speaker design. They come in little cloth pockets with M3 adhesive on one side. I removed them from these pockets. The front and rear of the pockets are two separate parts bonded by velcro. So it's really easy to take them out. The pocket they come in is much larger than the speaker itself. Even still, the speakers sound surprisingly good for their size. I have yet to be able to test either microphone that comes with the device, but I will be able to test this soon, as I have another B4FM coming in the mail for another helmet. It does come with 2 mics, though. One with a soft cable, and another with an adjustable, stiff cable. The soft wire mic comes with M3 adhesive on the rear of the mic, whereas the hard adjustable mic comes with M3 adhesive on a square plastic base. I didn't bother using the adhesive because it's so tightly squished into my helmet liner that I know it's not coming out. The main Bluetooth unit is mounted via a removable clip. It's actually quite difficult to get it on and off. It's held to the mount by 2 rails and a small tooth on the unit. The mount as a spring-like piece of metal that the tooth clips into. The tooth is rubberized plastic, so I honestly don't see it lasting long if you remove the unit from the mount often. The mount is installed onto the helmet via 2 removable U-shaped pieces of metal stolen off of a Binder Clip. Once installed, the whole ordeal does stick out from the side of the helmet a little bit, but nothing that looks too terrible. The unit itself has 4 buttons. Power, volume up, down, and an intercom button. Power for 3 seconds turns the unit on and off. Power 6 seconds to pair. Turning the unit on, you hear a voice tell you the percentage of battery left. Mine was at 80% when I turned it on, so I assume it rounds up the nearest 10%. Like I said earlier, I haven't yet paired the device to another in intercom mode, but I will update this as soon as I do get it paired with another. I did, however, listen to some music in it. It's loud enough for the interstate on stock pipes and sounds pretty decent. I would give the quality for the size and use case scenario a 7.5 out of 10. Really quite decent! Overall I think it's worth the money. I was quite nervous that this unit would be terrible, being that most of the ratings for the B4FM were not that good. I'm happy I bought these and would happily buy them again! Some warnings, though. Make sure you push the headphones into the jack all the way. It is not as easy to get them in there as a normal set of headphones because they have a waterproof connection. Also, make sure your speakers actually line up to your ears. --UPDATE-- I've had the device for a couple of days now and have paired with another B4FM and can happily say the range is awesome and the sound is crystal clear. It has a noise gate, which means the mic has to be picking up a certain level of volume before you hear anything come through your headphones, which is awesome. As long as you speak deliberately, you will be heard. ---UPDATE--- Its now been at least a year and the battery life on this thing is awesome! I still use it to talk to my (now) wife when she's riding on the back. Might upgrade to a name brand for more features but this thing still kicks butt. ... show more

  • Excelente servicio audio insuficiente
Style: ET COM Dual Pack
Excelente servicio y a tiempo. El producto no tiene un audio insuficiente a más de 60km/h con un casco cerrado. El resto de funcionalidades y batería van muy bien.

  • Economically and Best Bang for the Buck
Very decent for the price. It is certainly very loud and I can hear the music and phone conversations over my exhaust on my 2016 Road Glide Ultra. I've got Bassani Down Under Headers, with Screamin Eagle 2.25 inch baffles. So the exhaust is mid to upper range of loud. I was impressed with the helmet speakers, nice large 40mm drivers. 3M sticky tape to secure firmly to the inside, very strong adhesive. The speakers sound decent, with the setup as delivered, not a tremendous amount of bass, but good mid and certainly highs are very strong. Almost to strong, hurts my ears and need to turn it down. The boom comes with two different arrangements. One that attaches to the inside of your helmet with 3M tape and slim line (for a full face helmet) and an adjustable boom if your wearing an open face or 3/4 helmet. Very easy to switch out the one you want to use. To secure the blue tooth unit to your helmet, you have either a 3M tape adapter that the blue tooth unit snaps very securely into, or you can use the clip. I opted for the 3M the clip wasn't very sturdy and the blue tooth unit didn't seem as secure in my opinion. The Unit itself is easy to use, charging is easy and when you turn on, there is an audible message on the amount of power left in the battery. That was a nice surprise; that way I'm not guessing how much battery life I have. I didn't find the noise cancellation effective. Could be because of the exhaust I have. I did end up using acoustic self adhesive dampening foam and made my own ear cushion that goes around the speakers and secures to the inside of my helmet. That seemed to help a lot and I could definitely notice a reduction in noise. The bass was stronger too. The raised controls on the side are nice, I can definitely tell which controls I'm using through my gloves. Overall, I would give them a 3.8 out of 5 stars. If I didn't have to make my own acoustic ear pieces to reduce the tinsel sound sharp sound on the highs and increase bass, I would give it 4.5 out of 5 stars. I've used other cost effective units and this one is by far the best cost effective unit I've experienced. ... show more

  • Not what I was expecting
Style: ET COM Single Pack
I purchased this because I do a lot of highway riding and wanted something I could listen to as I ride. I received this and had not tried it out until recently, after I installed it on my helmet and went for a ride. I could not hear anything on the speakers even at a slow speed, I don't have a loud motorcycle. I have a 2007 Yamaha Star 1300 tourer. it is a fairly quiet bike. I came home and readjusted the speakers in the helmet and again took a ride. a bit better, however, at speed on the highway again I could not hear anything. I am very disappointed in this unit. It is of course too late to return it as it was purchased last year 2021. and I had medical reasons where I could not ride my bike. So lesson learned. I will be looking for a better model of bluetooth with better (louder) speakers. ... show more
