I have been wanting to go to the public skating rink for ages and now I have an extra reason to go. Love that the skate is adjustable and you can grow into it and I ordered the all black and it looks sleek in person. I haven't been ice skating in years but the boot part of the skate seems to be shorter than the ones I have (old school white women's style), it's more of a high top height and has a clip lock closure much like a roller blade. My daughter finally got to try these and she likes them much more than the rental skates. They lock tight and the blades glide well across the ice. I love the locking of these over the laces that you can't ever seem to get tight enough. These are absolutely perfect.

The media could not be loaded. Nice ice skates for kids, and the size is adjustable. The metal blade is designed as standard ice skates. It's not that heavy for kid. It's a little stiff wearing it and not as comfortable. I guess it's normal for a skates. Cute pink color, and quality and material are acceptable. My stepdaughter, 7 years old, has recently taken up ice skating as a hobby (which baffles me since we live in the desert, but I digress). As you may know, children's feet grow faster than any weed. Buy a pair of shoes, and they might wear them for about a week before the big toe pokes through. Well, she wanted a pair of ice skates. Let's just say a pair from the local sporting goods store cost about a day's worth of pay, which is not what you want to do for something that is going to have a toe poking through it in a week! These skates are an amazing answer. ADJUSTABLE SIZES?! And at that, easy to adjust? Ordered right away. The box it was shipped in was pretty shredded (could use help on the packaging) but the skates themselves are pretty, have sparkles, blade covers, and are of a good quality. My son really wants to learn to skate. He was very excited when he received the ice skating shoes. I took my son to the skating rink to wear it the next day. He has been wearing it for a while and reflected that wearing this pair of skates is very comfortable, lighter than the usual rental, and a burden on the foot. The shoes are the right size and can be extended, so they include different sizes. Even though the child can grow up quickly, they also can wear them for a while, thus saving money. Where were these when I was growing up? I would have been able to start skating so much earlier if I'd had these. My parents couldn't afford to buy me skates until I got older and my feet had stopped or at least slowed down growing. With the expense of everything going up, it's nice that there are products like this that allow you to get as much use out of them as possible. I like that they are hockey style skates that still have easy adjustment and securing features like ratchet buckles and hook and loop closure. Also, even though they are adjustable, it's nice that the size range isn't too wide. If it was too much, they would be way too loose or way too tight, depending on which end of the adjustment range you're on. For my needs, these are perfect. I'm using these as a way to both save money on rentals, and help motivate the kids to want to skate more. With their own set of skates, they're much more excited about going and practicing.
