  • Change my original review from 1 star to 5 stars.
The DVD automaticlly shows Korean subtitles. I didn't realize I could turn the subtitles off. 🤦♀️ The DVD is good quality and I would buy from this company again. "No Way Out" is one of my favorite movies. 5 stars for the movie and the DVD.

  • Great movie
Such an intense thriller. It keeps you on your toes and the suspense can be a bit overwhelming. Such a great Costner flick.

  • Top-notch Entertainment!
It is said to be a remake of the 1948 film The Big Clock, but changing the setting to the Ministry of Defense and incorporating elements of a military thriller seems to have been a good way to scale up the story . This 4K UHD is excellent in image quality, as it was encoded in H EVC/H.265 95.78Mbps from a master scanned in 4K from a 35mm Origina Camera Negative. The 12-bit high dynamic range image with Dolby Vision and HDR10 is certainly impressive. The background, which I did n't pay much attention to when watching the DVD, suddenly came back to life and revived as an organic presence, enhancing the value of most scenes, such as the city, taxi, yacht harbor, night scenes, office, intelligence room, and secretary's office - and of course the expressions of the main characters also look much more lively. The first half of the story is dominated by the sexy scenes between Sean Young and Kevin Costner, which capture the hearts of the audience, but when the second half switches to suspense, it becomes a little unclear as to which of the three, Gene Hackman, Kevin Costner, and/or Will Patton, the story is focused on, and the movie seems to leave the audience behind. I think the key to the success of this movie was how to portray the hero Kevin Costner's performance in the second half, but you'll have to watch it to find out. As entertainment, it is top-notch, as you'd expect from Hollywood. ... show more

  • Glad this movie was released on Blu-ray
Blu-ray transfer is not flawless, There are some visible damage to the print, flashes of little white dots here an there but overall it's a decent transfer. This movie was even better than I remembered it. Some of the suspense reminded me of the situation in The Departed (2006), where there are two protagonists both of whom are trying to uncover the other's identity. Not exactly the same but there are similarities. Kevin Costner is giving one his best performances (he was so good in the late 80s and early 90s). And you cannot really go wrong with Gene Hackman. But there is another actor who steals many of the scenes, he portrays Gene Hackman's character's aid. I reccommend this movie to all movie lovers who love suspense and the 80s. ... show more

  • No Way Out
This was Kevin Costner's breakout performance. He plays a young Naval officer that finds himself unwittingly embroiled in Washington's high-stakes politics when he begins an affair with the Secretary of Defense's mistress. The tension builds slowly but inexorably, keeping the viewer on the edge of his seat, until the final, explosive (and completely unexpected) surprise ending. ... show more

  • The disk played well.
This is a DVD, and the most important thing you want is a disk that will play well. This one succeeded. It's a thrilling story with surprising twists. Sometimes twists are overdone and just to entertain. But this story was solid and all the better for that style. Great acting.

  • The blu-ray disc from Spain has poor quality.
The ink of the graphic design of the blu-ray disc from Spain comes off from the disc. Other discs I bought from the same seller have satisfactory quality.
