These boxes are sturdy and easy to assemble. They really do snap together. They’re a tiny bit small for some DVDs. Of course Blu-rays fit just fine. They look good too, pretty slick. I confess - I don't have one of those cube bookcases that you put the box or basket organizers into, so I'm not sure how well this will fit. But the outer dimensions are 14" (D) x 11.25" (H) x 11.25" (W). I'm putting this on top of a small cabinet I have next to my computer desk because I live with cats who think that cords are meant to be chewed on. (Best. Toy. Ever!!!) The drawers will hold paper just fine, probably even legal size. I'm planning on putting cords and small things that are fun to bat around the floor in them. This is made from cardboard covered with glossy black laminate coating so that it's kind of like a black grand piano finish. It comes flat packed. The drawers and the box have snaps to click together, and I didn't have to even look at the instructions for the snapping part. There are also two plastic inserts that go into the box to guide the drawers in - I had to glance at the instructions for those. Everything was lined up properly, though some of the tolerances were a little tight. That's good, though - it keeps the box from sagging, say when a cat sits on it. The drawers each have a metal card holder in front with a little card in it so you can label the drawers. The cards can be pushed out and replaced easily. There is a little hole in the face of each drawer instead of a drawer pull for ease of pulling. Everything slides in and out smoothly. This whole thing was really well thought out! The glossy finish dusts off well and repels liquid (for a little while, at least), though the joins for the sides open along the top so I'm sure it won't be long before someone feline at my house figures out how to get something unpleasant into it. I would have liked to flip this on its side, but the plastic inserts need to go a certain way over certain edges to help keep the snaps connected when heavy stuff is in there. This is technically meant as an insert to a bookcase or something, not a standalone cabinet, so I'll forgive them for not thinking of me and my mess-inducing family. But it looks nice as a standalone thing. At least for now. ... show more

This would be good for reception areas, closets or deep shelving. Assembly took me 8 minutes, and I’m slow. The snaps hold firmly, although the fit is somewhat imperfect, showing gaps along the top and bottom sides. The metal-ringed holes are easier than handles for drawer pull-out. I was really excited to get this because I love this kind of thing. Containers with drawers, and labels! I love the little finger holes to easily pull the drawers out. I love how there’s plenty of space to hold pendaflex file folders completely flat within it. Many drawers like this are not big enough for folders. But when it arrived it took me aback, because it’s pretty big. It’s tall (11”), so when I put it on my spacious side desk, it really blocks the view. Plus, even though it looks very nice. The veneer over the cardboard is gorgeous piano gloss black, however, it is very thin and easily torn. I guarantee you that unless you are exquisitely careful this will look tatty sooner than later. I’ve come to the conclusion that these are excellent organizers for closets. They don’t fit in most bookcases because they’re 14” deep. But a closet shelf should be able to handle that. Also really good for reception area, or an office credenza against a wall. For a lobby where you want to have easy access but keep things looking tidy. I am extremely impressed with this Leitz Storage Box. I knew that it was cardboard and that I would have to assemble the box. What I did not expect was the well thought out design, the sturdiness of the product and the ease of assembly. I am a 30 something female that normally has her Husband assemble most things. I could generally figure it out, but he is better at assembly. I put this box together by myself in only a few minutes. They really kept assembly in mind when making this storage box. All of the assembly is done via snap buttons. You literally snap all of the buttons together to make the outside box and the drawers. You then easily slide a plastic drawer guide into the box and insert the drawers. Easy peasy. The storage box is pretty sturdy considering it is cardboard. There are naturally some small gaps along the edges and weight limits. I also had some of the black paper covering torn on my drawers, but it was on the inside part. The drawers are big enough to hold paper, large pen sets and more. I am going to use them to organize some papers for work. However, my second choice was to have it hold coloring books, pens and colored pencils. There are lots of things you could use this for. It's great for office supplies. There are circular holes to place your finger in and open the drawer. There are also removable paper labels. This is the nicest cardboard storage box I have seen yet. I was oddly fascinated by the snap-together construction design. It went together smoothly and feels like it is going to hold up. It will not take weight on top beyond a paperback or non-textbook hardcover (I am hoping to dissuade the cats from perching there), but beyond that concern it feels like it is going to handle use well. Drawers slide in well and move freely, but are not loose. The finger holes are fantastic for pulling the drawers open. Labels on each drawer are a nice organizational addition.
