Looks stunning when completed, although the background isn’t the most interesting thing to build, because is just stacking 1x4 thin plates over and over again. But the creativity on the shapes used for the rest is well worth the effort.

There is nothing to dislike about this set. I was hesitant because it was pricey, but the work and design that has gone into this set is incredible. I am in my late 80's and found this to be extremely delightful to build and enjoy the beauty of the design. With over 2300 pieces, I was missing one piece at the end of the build, but was able to create it with the extra pieces that accumulated. I highly recommend this set for anyone who would like to relax and build a work of art. So happy Lego is being made for adults. I know there are less expensive sets available by other manufacturers of this build, but I highly recommend the original Lego, it is sturdy and beautiful. Kudos to the designers, fantastic job of recreating a masterpiece. ... show more

Such an awesome Lego set, if you’re like me and want this done in one day, it’s definitely possible, just throw on some movies and zone into building! I bought a lighting kit for this as well and now it sits above my coffee machine. The book was pretty easy to follow but be prepared to have some patience when it comes to the sky background, this took the longest but now that it’s done I would absolutely do it again! Style: Frustration-Free Packaging
There aren't many artwork LEGO sets. If you're trying to decide between Starry Night and the Great Wave sets (the two big, currents ones), they each have their strengths, but Starry Night has the more 3D feel to it that makes it a great display set (and a fun build). That LEGO added in the Van Gogh minifig with a paint brush as if he were painting the starry night as it was makes it even more endearing and a great take on the original artwork itself; it's bringing Starry Night into the world of LEGO much like Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings movies are a great take on JRR Tolkien's original books. The movies could never replace the books, but they are fun foray into the world of Tolkien, and this LEGO set is much the same with Starry Night. Definitely recommend. ... show more
