I had my eye on this set since it launched. I have loved Lego since I was a child in the 80's. I have passed this on to my kids. I have also loved LOTR since I saw it in the theatres when the movies came out. I don't buy Legos for myself, but for this I made an exception. This is the perfect combination for lovers of both. The detail was terrific. I loved all the scenes from the movies as well as all the minifigs. I assembled it while watching the extended versions of The Hobbit, and Lord of the Rings. It timed out about right! It was challenging enough, but not confusing. I did have one piece that was wrong, but Lego sent the right piece within 7 days. I own multiple kits, including Barad Dur and this one is by far the single best kit Lego has produced. Lots of close seconds, but every LOTR fan must have this kit.
