  • Play for its story
Platform For Display: Nintendo Switch Edition: Standard
What I like about this game is there's something to do after completing the main storyline. Theres side missions you only get when you complete the main story. You get to collect collectables like mini figures and bricks that give you cheats and outfits for Chase to wear. Though I do admit that it does get repetitive and can bore you out from doing it long term at least the various puzzles keep you on your toes Why isn't there an anime yet? The main storyline is what makes this game shine its funny and full of action with returning characters from its previous game and unique minigames to try. ... show more

  • Bad Menu Order but Otherwise Fun Game for Kids
Platform For Display: Nintendo Switch Edition: Standard
Why is “Load Game” the second option on the main menu and, “New Game” the first option and the first thing your cursor is on when starting up the game??? This caused my son to accidentally delete his game. He’s dyslexic and has a hard time reading (which is why I got him this game because it says the story out loud to the child) so he’s often quick to select on menus what makes sense in his head. Most kid games do not put the first selectable option (and default location of your curser) as the option that will delete your existing game. He lost hours and hours of play. He’s miserable, in tears and no longer interested in playing what was once his favorite Switch game. I’m looking for a replacement game now to cheer him up. I feel like he was punished by a bad menu choice on part of the game developers. It’s a great game for kids who can’t read, or have a hard time reading, but beware the menu options seem to be a bit backwards. I do still recommended this game but be careful when your kid loads it up or you too might be looking into the tear streaked face of your little gamer. ... show more

  • Fun game... New dual player mode!
Platform For Display: Nintendo Switch Edition: Standard
We already own this on our WiiU system Nintendo Selects: Lego City: Undercover - Wii U . I bough this again because I never get to play it on the Wii U since two of my kids are on the Wii U constantly. My son is always playing any Lego game and my older daughter is always playing a Zelda title. And when they are on together they play minecraft. What this means is I never get to use the Wii U and I always wanted to play this game. I have played it on the Wii U some and it is fun. But now with this copy I can play on my Switch... an added bonus is I can now play the game along with my son and we have lots of fun together exploring Lego city. Since he has more play time with the Wii U version he shows me around the city and tell me where we need to go next. But it is loads of fun to now be able to play along side him. For this alone, I am happy I rebought this title.... on sale for $40 here on Amazon. Not as cheap as the Wii U version, but I was happy not to pay full price to rebuy this game for one extra feature. So which version should you buy if you own a switch and a Wii U? my advice is: If you wish to save money buy the Wii U version. A bargain at the Nintendo Selects price!! If you want to play along with your kids buy this version. If you already own this, wait for it to be on sale again on the switch. Enjoy! ... show more

  • Fun, open world game that will let you explore for many hours
Platform For Display: Nintendo Switch Edition: Standard
After I finished Mario Odyssey and Zelda Breath Of The Wild, I was bummed because I didn't know of any other open-world games for the Nntendo Switch. I saw this game recommended and, although I've never played a Lego game, I decided to give it a try. It exceeded all my expectations. The game has a huge open world and you are free to explore and find little side tasks to do all over the place. You can, of course, follow the main story and go through the various levels in the game, but you are by no means forced to do that. There's plenty of other stuff to do freeform on your own. I've seen this game described as a G-rated, family-friendly version of Grand Theft Auto and I'd agree. The game is clearly designed so kids can play, but it's just as fun for adults. Having never played a Lego game, I was surprised that the humor and the voice-acting were all quite good, and overall the game is really polished and has a lot of layers to it. There is attention to detail and a lot of stuff to do - it feels like a big, substantial game. People complain about the load times, and they are definitely longer than most games, but they aren't that bad - the loading screens certainly don't detract from an otherwise stellar game. If you, like me, enjoyed the exploration and freedom of Mario Odyssey and Zelda BOTW, I would put this game next on your list. ... show more
