  • As described and good product
Color: Pack of 4
Well packaged and good quality. Works as described. Need to gradually add warm water to avoid excess liquid. Expands nicely. Mixed with perlite (40/60 ratio) for fig cuttings rooting. Haven’t tested how good it works yet but looks a really good quality. Did not find any significant debris or foreign objects. ... show more

  • Cost Effective Gardening At Its Finest!
Color: Pack of 8
I'm an avid gardener, I've tried various soil amendments, and this product has quickly become one of my favorites. Pros: Filling raised beds is expensive, with these coco coir peat bricks you get a great value for a great price. It is a great cost effective solution, I mixed it in with moisture control gardening soil and worm castings. My garden is beyond thriving! I used the coco coir as a component in my potting mix from seed starting to transplanting and it worked wonders for my plants. Its compressed form makes storage and handling a breeze. Its easy to use, just need to soak in water for expansion. When soaking the brick, I normally place it in a bucket and fill it until the brick is fully submerged and give it some time. It provides excellent moisture retention, great for long hot summer days. Cons: The water retention can become a problem for overwatering or root rot. For those who already overwater the bricks when expanding them, its a good way to learn how much water is too much water. I noticed after purchasing, these coco coir bricks have no perlite. There are other brands available that have added perlite. Perlite works great for moisture control as well as preventing soil compression. I definitely will try those next and see if I like them better. When removing the plastic packaging, it releases dust. It is a great idea to unwrap the coco coir brick inside a bucket to reduce dust fallout. I do believe the uneven sizing stated on the other reviews, could be a quality control issue. I ordered two 8pks and all my bricks were of equal size. ... show more

  • Excellent for homemade plant soil
Color: Pack of 10
I use this as a large part of my homemade plant soil. Obviously I add a bunch of other things but this is main part. Packages are small but once you add water it fluffs up very nicely and mixes well with all my other add ins. My plants love it! Only thing I have noticed is I continue to buy it, it’s definitely more fibrous. It used to be soft and fluffy and now it seems to have more thick strands. Still works beautifully though. ... show more

  • Retains Water as Described and Very Easy to Work With
Color: Pack of 6
I ordered these due to numerous YouTube gardener recommendations. Very easy to work with, and work into your soil, after you’ve added water to the brocket, and let it sit for about an hour. So far it’s keeping the soil around my tomatoes moist, which are planted in a raised bed, and the large black canvas bags (also recommended on YouTube). It definitely has great moisture retention. I’ve also used it in flower pots, terracotta, and I’ll know after this week’s heatwave in the Boston area, if it retains it in my potted plants as well. More to report as summer heats up! ... show more

  • Used with potting soil to retain water
Color: Pack of 2
Works well for holding water in the soil. I mixed with my potting soil, the plants look good. Also not as heavy for window boxes. I suggest lining your coconut liner for windows with a plastic liner, I used a black garbage bag, keeps the plants wet longer
