I bought one of these to test out in my 5th-grade classroom because they are so much more affordable than some of the other brands. I was planning to try it and then, if we liked it, set up a Donor's Choose to get more. The students absolutely love the stool! However, I am not impressed by the quality of the construction. A few days a week, we stack all seats up on the desks so our custodians can vacuum the carpets. We were stacking this stool upside-down so it would be more stable and to keep the desktops cleaner. After just a couple of weeks of this, the textured seat came unattached from the base (see photo). I don't see this product as being durable enough for use in a classroom. I purchased this as a sample before an elementary school library remodel to compare with hokki stools. We've had two 12 inch and two 15 inch hokki stools for a year, and I purchased one 18 inch Learniture active learning stool a couple of weeks ago. I asked my second and third graders to sit on them both and compare, not exchanging information until I asked them 15 minutes later. The consensus is that these stools are more comfortable that the hokki stools, even though they don't wobble as much. I love it, as these are about 1/3 of the price!     • Stands up to the test of time and kids

I purchased this stool 4.5 years ago and it’s still going strong. My daughter who is autistic uses it. She will be 13 at the end of the month. It has held up with daily use by her and my 4 other children all younger than her. It has been dropped, thrown, kicked, sat on, stood on, its held up to the test of time. My only complaint is that when I purchased this, I pain $52. Now it’s $67. I understand inflation and maybe this is in line with it, but it seems excessive to me. I came back on here to buy a second one for my fidgety 9 year old son during distance learning. I’m going to research a little and shop around. I’m happy with this brand but at this price I’m not sure it’s necessary. I will come back and update my review if I end up purchasing this brand again despite the price increase. ... show more

My 6yo has been using this stool in his 1st grade classroom for approximately three months now. HUGE BEHAVIORAL IMPROVEMENT!!! My boy is very, VERY energetic and "touchy". This stool allows him to channel that energy away from touching his neighbors and disrupting their learning and that of the class as a whole. Our 1st grade teacher is such a proponent of these that she has asked that the school seek a grant to pay for them for the entire classroom. Bottomline: If you have a child that has difficulty focusing, sitting still, avoiding being a distraction in the classroom, and your school & teacher will allow an outside chair to be brought into the classroom (meaning, this Learniture Stool), get it and do it as quickly as you can. I bought these for a local elementary school. I asked the teachers what they could use most in their class, and over and over again I heard "wobble chairs"!!! I think I have purchased around 30 of these chairs now. They are a great solid addition to the classroom. The students love them, the teachers love them, and I was able to get many more chairs for the money than the other ones I found.     • Good for fidgety kid, but took a while to convince

Got this for my son who was 3'11" when I bought it and is now 4'. Height is just right. He's super fidgety and can't sit still typically. At first, he really didn't like it. It took some convincing to even try it, but now he prefers it over his regular chair. I really like how it arrived as one piece vs. another similar chair that arrived in multiple pieces. This has a lot sturdier construction. I like the padding on the bottom, too, which other similar chairs lack. I'd buy this again and easily recommend it to others. I use this all over the house - and outside. For my computer desk downstairs - for my drawing desk up stairs (so lightweight it can be carried anywhere) - for sitting at the kitchen table reading recipes - for sitting for 15 minutes outside in the sun. Tempted to try it in the shower for the fun of it. When the health advice of the times is to keep moving you couldn't find a better device for doing that when you are seated. ... show more

My ASD son wiggles and tips his chairs back constantly. This stool allows him to wiggle a little easier and keeps him from tipping back and falling over so much. I got the tallest one, he uses it at the kitchen table. It was a bit overpriced, but it's been a good buy nonetheless.
