Well made, operated as per instructions said, not difficult to put in batteries, no assembly required and begin playing! Immediately the kids set out to put batteries in them and try the different sounds and lights. It was easy for these 9 yr old boys to learn as well as the 6yr girl. I was the one who needed help! I bought this item to play with my niece and nephew over the Thanksgiving weekend. My 7 year old nephew loved it as we ran around the yard tagging each other out. Great exercise for the both of us and tons of fun!! My daughter loves this! She asks to play it every day. We have to set her's up for her each time, and you can listen for accidental (or purposeful) button pushes from across the room. It seems like if one person is using total shot and another person has laser, for example, it becomes an unfair advantage. We always set up to the same type of shot so that it is fair for everyone from the start. If we do get another set to play teams, I think the other gun type settings would be more fun. It is a really short game if you use anything other than total shot. My daughter is young, and she's already learned how to shoot around a corner without looking and getting hits. Lol. The only issue we've had so far was that it didn't take long for a tiny piece of plastic, somewhere inside, to break off and rattle around in the gun. We ordered this set for my son to have for his sleepover. He and his friend had so much fun with this laser tag set that I had to enforce bedtime. They were having so much fun that 3 hours slipped for them. They never got to the video games! Anything that can keep my son off the computer games and outside playing is a win-win.
