I purchased this urn to transport my late father’s ashes from one state to another via airplane. It arrived quickly. The engraving is nice and the lid and seal are tight. The urn isnt the largest and you may want to reach out to the funeral home to see if they recommend a larger size. I was only taking some ashes back with me and the rest were spread. I had no questions from TSA when traveling to retrieve his ashes. Please make sure you have formal documentation that the container and material inside are ashes. I kindly let the TSA Agent know I was carrying ashes and handed her the formal letter. 2 minutes later I was on my way through security. This is a great metal urn, relative to it's price range ($20 at the time of this review). You could spend more money for something more ornate, but this urn is for people on a budget that want something still very nice with style and practicality. If you drop this, it's probably going to be fine, although it could certainly be dented, but I expect most people would be careful with an urn with their loved one's ashes. I'm keeping this for now with some of my mom's ashes inside, but I may eventually give it to my brother if he wants it. My mom loved to travel, so I intend to use this urn on my travels and scatter her ashes around at different places over the next few years. This urn should hold up over time. Let me start by saying that this is an excellent vessel for your loved one's ashes if you want something for short-term use. For example, if you intend to spread their remains, this is a suitable vessel for that. But I feel that it lacks some refinement as a display piece. We had acquired this to display my father's ashes in our home. In person, it looks like it's not as high quality as I felt the images suggested it might be. The text and graphic are "Lazer Printed". I thought that meant etched. But it doesn't have that kind of quality. The design aesthetic and the way it looks and feels are mostly subjective. Many may feel this is more than adequate. So let's talk about build quality: It's solid. I feel the finish is generally well done, and I don't expect that the finish will wear or fade over time. I am a little concerned about the printed graphic and wording. But I am not an expert on that, nor have I had it long enough to know if it will wear. So with that in mind, consider how you will use this. If it's a temporary vessel for the funeral and to spread the ashes, then you're probably fine. But if you plan to display it in your home, you may want something a little fancier. ... show more

Urns and caskets are usually a somber subject. It never hurts to be prepared though. This urn comes with a velvet bag and it is extremely presentable. It doesn't cost much and as decoration alone it is rather nice looking. It is most assuredly cheaper than getting one directly from a funeral home. In the time of grief people tend to accept just about anything, so make the smarter decision and get it before you need it. The quality of the urn itself is nice both on the inside and outside. It could definitely be made with a more expensive material. You can feel the thinness of the urn but that really isn't important considering it will only be holding the ashes of the deceased.
