  • NICE HUNTING BOOT
Size: 10 Color: Forest Green
If you plan on wearing heavy socks and normally wear a half size,,go the next size up for sure. There not all that warm but not to bad considering the Thinsulate value. I've found them quite easy to walk in compared to many other rubber boots I've owned and the grip on all the different surfaces I've been on up here in the high mountains I live on is OUTSTANDING, even when fording streams. I'd have given a 5 star if they were still made in Canada as they used to be instead of China. I hope the rubber doesn't fail quickly like all the other Chinese boots I've had in the past. Time will tell,,,,, ... show more

  • Very warm and easy to walk in
Size: 12 Color: Forest Green
I typically buy LaCrosse boots a size smaller than my sneaker and shoe size. The boots seem very warm so far, but I bought a box of "Hot Hands" to put in each boot in case of sub 20 degree weather. I take photos in the NJ Pine Barrens and stand motionless for up to an hour at times, and I really needed warm boots. I wear these boots with Carhartt Men's Arctic Wool Heavy Boot Socks. I could hike for miles in these, although they are obviously heaver than non insulated boots. EDIT: It was 11 degrees on January 8th, and I waded through the Oswego river, photographing 8" of snow in the forest. My feet were very comfortable in these boots. Walking is easy, and they are warm, even in very cold weather. ... show more

  • Awesome for snow-blowing
Size: 12 Color: Forest Green
Bought this as a simple slip on boot for snow-blowing and outdoor chores as a new homeowner. We sure got plenty of snow this winter (in Minnesota) and these boots did not disappoint. Plenty warm without ever feeling absolutely sweltering while moving around doing stuff temps ranging from -30 to +40 Fahrenheit. Haven't had the chance to try them while sitting style, but probably will this next deer hunting season. They're not the lightest, but they don't feel overly bulky, and are quite secure. I did add Superfeet insoles for a more customized fit with more arch support. I appreciated that they seemed to TRULY run true-to-size, with enough room to wear a good pair of wool socks. ... show more

  • Well built, warm, comfortable, but clammy
Size: 14 Color: Forest Green
Overall, these are well built, well designed boots. They are rugged and fit coofortably. I just used these on a 4 day moose hunt with temps in 30s during day and teens at night. This were always warm enough. They were handy for slogging through puddle and creeks. For all this, they should get a 5 star. The problem I had was that they get very clammy and wet. By the end of the day, I could pour sweat out of the boots. My feet were basically never dry even with good socks. I know that rubber boots don't breath, but these were worse than any I've owned. I'm hoping that it was just too warm to be using these and they'll be better for very cold weather. Also, I wish you could completely pull the foam liners out at night to dry, but you can only get the tope insole out. On the plus side, even wet, my feet weren't cold. ***EDIT/UPDATE- It is now much colder and I am happy to report that the boots have been much drier. With temps in the teens and 20's, I do not get the clamminess that I was getting. So, I'd say that the comfort temps for these boots are 10-30 degrees. They still trap sweat, so I wouldn't recommend them unless you can take them off and dry them inside every night. Changing my review to a 4 star.*** ... show more

  • nice boot, watch out for amazon fulfillment, mismatched pairs!
Size: 8 Color: Forest Green
Bought these Alphaburly 800 grams with Amazon fulfillment. Ordered size 8D. The sticker in the boot shafts both said 8. But I took out the footbed and noticed right boot under insole had 8 stamped, the left had 9 stamped!!! Holding them side by side, the left was visibly longer. Don't just look at the labels! Luckily my left foot is half size longer. The left boot also had second footbed which made the initial fit noticeably tighter, when I took out extra footbed the fit was much better. Normally wear size 10 D width in athletic shoes, have pair of Danner Quarries in size 10 D. Normal dress shoes usually 9 or 9.5 D width. I have a low volume foot (more people need tell their foot volume in addition to length and width when describing how a shoe fits in their reviews). I briefly tried on size 10 in local store, they were huge w/ thick wool socks, the store did not have 9 or 8 to try on. When I ordered I sized down to an 8, the right boot size 8 was just a touch too small, but the left boot size 9 fit my slightly longer left foot better in length, width and only slightly loose in volume. Returned the mismatched pair for hopefully another pair both in size 9. Construction seemed good, but can't say long term. Assuming they hold up, and insulate well, I guess I would rate the boot at least 4. But giving 3 stars for mis-matched pair Amazon sent me. ... show more

  • I will be better prepared with these boots
Size: 12 Color: Forest Green
I got these boots in anticipation of my upcoming annual winter fishing trip, where the nominal seacoast temperature is 30-deg.F with a constant 30MPH wind (so it feels colder). We go out all day in that weather. Over the years, I have been swapping out pieces of my kit as I learn what works in that setting and what does not. I used several other makes and models of boots, and they held up well for the first two hours or so. By the end of the first day, I was moving around a lot more, including doing leg squats, just to (try to) stay warm. Also by the end of the first day, the metal fittings on most of the clothing begin to rust. I have learned my lesson. I am a size 11.5, so I went with size 12 to accommodate for thick wool socks. I will be better prepared with these boots, no doubt. Their construction quality is great. My family members who are hunters and are familiar with LaCrosse (and specifically this model of boot) have had all good experiences with them. I will, too. ... show more
