Description

A dark and violent crime thriller set against the backdrop of 1940’s Los Angeles. Amid the post-war boom of Hollywood's Golden Age, Cole Phelps, an LAPD detective is thrown headfirst into a city drowning in its own success. Corruption is rampant, the drug trade is exploding, and murder rates are at an all-time high. In his fight to climb the ranks and do what's right, Phelps must unravel the truth behind a string of arson attacks, racketeering conspiracies and brutal murders, battling the L.A. underworld and even members of his own department to uncover a secret that could shake the city to its rotten core. Utilizing revolutionary facial animation technology that captures every nuance of an actor's facial performance in astonishing detail, L.A. Noire blends the breathtaking action of chases and shootouts with true detective work for an unprecedented interactive experience. Solve brutal crimes, plots and conspiracies inspired by real crimes from 1947 Los Angeles, one of the most corrupt and violent times in L.A. history. Search for clues, chase down suspects and interrogate witnesses as you struggle to find the truth in a city where everyone has something to hide.

Incredible gaming experience! The game's attention to detail in recreating 1940s Los Angeles is outstanding, making you feel like a real detective solving crimes in a noir setting.

  • Excellent game, lackluster remaster
This is definitely one of those games you have to play at least once. For a remaster, this game doesn't impress, even for that era it came out in.

  • Terrific all around
I got this for my son, he's been saving his money and this video game has been on his wish list for a while. It came exactly when it was expected to arrive,he kept checking the tracking data to be sure! The package was pristine and in perfect condition, the product was exactly what he was looking for. As far as the game goes, he has been playing it for 2 days now, so I take that as a good sign. ... show more

  • Fantastic game, highly recommend
This was a gift for my best friend as a christmas gift in 2018. After hearing me talk about it she wanted to try it for herself. I've played this game originally years ago and to this day it's one of my all time favorites. The story is fantastic and the characters are great. The game play is really in depth and the 40s scenery, fashion, and aesthetics are wonderful. I also recommend watching behind the scenes filming of the mocap, hearing the actors talk about how they were able to still identify places and the streets of L.A. even in the 40s is cool and watching how they went about capturing scenes. All in all please play this game. Fans of any genre can like it. ... show more

  • An Honest Review
It takes a while to get used to this, because it is Rockstar and an open world and that tempts you to drive like you would in GTA... but you're a cop.... and that counts against you. And it's also low on action. I got it because my wife claims to be a "mystery fan," and an "armchair detective," of course this is a blatant lie, she's more a macabre, sadistic, ID obsessed... whatever. You know, she's pretty much every woman you have ever known. And there are enough corpses of naked women to keep her interests, and there are enough scandalous mysteries to keep her hooked. So it was a pretty big win with her, enough that the ending "traumatized" her. And that initial reaction of shock was a delight to watch. I don't know what else to say. She was hooked on this from start to finish, so I kind of feel like it was an ENORMOUS win. The music and mood fit the genre, it was nice to see a 1947 period open world. But, ultimately, I have never seen my wife get this hooked on a modern style video game before and it was an absolute delight watching her play this. It was probably one of the most satisfying random gifts I've ever gotten her. ... show more
