I've only used this chain once since I purchased it. My plan was to have a chain to lock up my bike for a quick pit stop at a store, park, school or something like that. Not for overnight use or leaving it unattended for several hours. Although the chain is intended to keep your bike safe and the chain is thick, anyone that really wants your property will find their way to break through it. Still take your necessary precautionary measures and lock your bike according to value from my understanding (frame and rear wheel in my case). My frame size is a ML, which allows the chain to only reach enough to hold the rear and frame to a secure object. Forget about the front wheel, you can buy that later if needed. 😉 I do have the chain wrapped around my frame, which the material around it make it look nice and protects the paint. I haven't seen any damage to the frame just yet but we'll see what happens from leaving it wrapped there over time. The color is a little different than my bike but that is expected since it is a different brand then my bike. The picture may look like it matches perfectly but my bike's red stands out a little more in person if you are into the details like that. It is all good with me. ... show more

This lock is great. I've had one for years and bought this one for my girlfriend and nothing has ever been stolen when locked up with it even in high risk areas. This chain is thick and beefy and undoubtedly helps to convince thieves to look for an easier target. I like how there is some flexibility in terms of where and how you lock your bike due to the chain style. If a bike lock area isn't available I can lock my bike to a tree, a post, a pipe sticking out of a building, whatever. And the lock is strong enough for me to have peace of mind. The one downside is it's a bit heavy carrying it with you, but you can't get great security without weight. I think this lock splits the difference well, being very secure but not insanely heavy. Couldn't recommend it more! Get one if you want to have a strong, secure lock with flexibility and want to be able to leave your bike anywhere without fear. ... show more

From the start I had a problem with the key not working properly. Either the key would get stuck in the lock or the lock would not open. Then the black rubber\plastic piece kept falling off of the chain. I ride an expensive bike and I do not want more scratches then what is already there. Other then these problems, this lock is NO JOKE! Heavy and durable, this is not your "cheap, box store lock" ! If you can get past the problematic lock and key functions or lack there of, then this lock is a great choice. However, if you are in a hurry and lock and unlock your bike multiple times a day, then this lock is not for you. I would consider a U-lock with a holster. And OFCORSE, go with a KRYPTONITE! ... show more

This is a handy compact lock, I use it to secure my bikes to my carrier mounted to my vehicle. The key and lock are well designed and work smoothly. All the hard surfaces of the lock are covered or coated protecting finishes it may come in contact with through use. I also carry it in my back pack while urban riding, it's surprisingly not bulky given what it is .... I like it ! ... show more

This lock has some weight to it but its a solid bike lock. Thick chain under a quality cover so no scratches to the bikes. I mean if someone really wants your bike, bolt cutters would get through this but it won't be an easy grab. I would recommend.

I like this bike lock because it is very solid, heavy, and I am very confident that my bike won't get stolen. It stores very nicely around the seat post, unlike U-Locks which are more difficult to store when you are riding. The key works great once you get used to it. 100% satisfied.
