    • Have to remember the sizing is NOT US or EU

The hardest part for most women when ordering and getting the wrong size is they do not grasp the great difference between Asian sizing and US/EU and are really reluctant when normally a much smaller size like an a XL or 1XL to order a 4XL or greater, it often feels insulting that their measurements fall into those sizes as in US/EU sizing that would be considered huge. I see many remarking that they ended up with one too small as they went smaller the measurements because it said to get a 4XL and they normally buy the US size that is several sizes smaller so they take a size smaller than they should. Going with the instructions of measure the waist and buying according to that size will, with most, get you a spot on fit unless you have a very large weight in proportion to your body, then the bust will be too loose and depending on the proportion of your hips too large or too small. The corset is pretty adjustable so if you go with the waist size you should be okay but the skirt might be too large. You can also buy the costume in pieces with the skirt separate form the corset and have more options in getting a corset and skirt in different sizes and the cost is about the same (and actually save you a few dollars in some size or style combinations). Asian sizes actually only Western women up to 2XL but that would be a 6XL and its often hard to click on a size so much larger than your really used to wearing. I am a seamstress that makes custom renaissance and other costume in the high end but needed something quick and not expensive and its did not need several weeks of detailing for a Halloween Day of the Dead party so decided to buy one of these. The fabric is dece quality and corsets are period accurate from the look even if the material and hardware are not. They are not as 'costumy' as one would expect and I would say that even foe someone just getting into period reenactment they would be a decent starter corset as long as one stays away from inappropriate colors :) The workmanship is very good and that needs to be considered in a corset of you do not want things that are supposed to be supporting you to be tearing with movement. I always where a new corset for about 12 hours before wearing it for an even and I just finished up a 14 hour test drive and it was comfortable the whole tie, no areas that poked or was binding, it adjusted well to my body and provided the necessary support. In comparison if I duplicated th costume, even using the same materials my wholesale price for materials and labor would have run in the area of 80-100 dollars so this is definitely a decent find ... show more

    • Great quality and look...weird sizing....

I found the reviews for this item very helpful so I decided to leave one. I am so happy with this purchase For the price, the quality is great. The boning is well stitched in, the the grommets on the lacings are well placed, there are no loose threads or seams, the stripes all line up perfectly, etc. I'm very very happy. The overall "look" is just perfect also. The way the faux leather trim wraps around is very flattering. I'm going for a "Steampunk fairy" look, and because of the laces in the back, it will be easy to attach wings. The sizing, as listed in other posts, is wonky. I'm 5'7'' a size 16 on top and a 14 on bottom very consistantly. I ordered a 5 XL. I would not have been as happy with it smaller, but it likely would have fit. I could not have gone bigger. but you have about 3-4 inches of play with the lacing. There is a material lining so if you let the laces out all the way, you still don't see the laces and a gap. I let mine out about an inch or so, so still had plenty of room to play with it. However, the skirt is way too big and I will be taking in the skirt around 3-4 inches so it doesn't fall off. It's so ruffly and loose that just a couple of tucks with hand stitching would work if you aren't a seamstress. I'm pretty evenly proportioned for a woman, hourglass-ish, so I"m a little surprised the skirt is as roomy as it is. Also, I have a long torso so I have to pull the skirt up a bit and that makes it pretty short, as well as the corset is pretty high under the breasts. It definitely provides that voluptuous look, so you need to be comfortable with that. I'll probably wear leggings underneath. But I followed the size guide and the size is acceptable, and overall look of costume was exactly what I was going for. So if you have more of a pear shaped hips or a larger waist, or it's the bottoms in sets that sometimes are too small, go with size chart. If you're more hourglass, don't go bigger or the skirt will be falling off. So overall....having read reviews and knowing what to expect re: size...I love it. It's flattering, sexy, feminine and edgy all in one. Super pleased!! ... show more

This is a great product, I normally don’t write reviews but after reading reviews under this product and actually buying it and testing it myself I thought I would pitch in. This product is great, I’m going as a vampire for Halloween and thought this would be a good costume! I was a little anxious about the sizing because of the reviews but after reading through and seeing one review that said go off the sizing chart I thought I would try it. Usually I wear a small but after measuring myself I found that for the specific product I was a large! I was a little worried and thought about ordering a small but decided to order a large! I just tried it on and it turned out great! The skirt is a little bit big and a little bit short but nothing too bad. The corset is perfect and it all fits very well. Just go by the sizing chart and this product will exceed your expectations! ... show more

I typically wear a M-XL in tops, as I’m not very big or big chested. I’m about 5’3 and 215 pounds, with my weight mostly in my legs and read end. But I bought this in a XXL and it didn’t fit so I sent it back. Now, I bought a 4XL and it still doesn’t fit, and it doesn’t have the fabric flap to cover your skin when it’s laced. I saw people saying it runs small so I ordered a XXL, it fits but I'm going to return it and get a XL. I want it a bit tighter but that's my preference. It looks great and is great quality! I love this for my vampire outfit for the renaissance fair! 🧛♀️
