This is a really wonderful gift for a budding artist! I got it specifically because I wanted the mini-easel (only complaint is that it's thickness makes it hard to clip a paper to it, but tape will work); but the brushes are wonderful, the canvases are quite nice. The paint is decent acrylic paint, a nice medium body. They are a not opaque, but layer well. The only thing I didn't like was the paper. It does not hold up to a heavy or wet medium like paint. It might be good for drawing, but nice pencils aren't included in this set, so I wouldn't expect to use it that way. ... show more

This is an incredible kit for beginners and children. The kit has everything that you need to get started. The wooden easel is perfect for working on a kitchen table or desk.
