Description

The Wax FREE Seal Kit is a cleaner alternative to using a wax ring during toilet installations. As temperatures fluctuate, the consistency of a wax ring can range from a sticky mess to a hardened block. The Wax FREE Seal Kit’s rubber exterior creates a tight seal between the floor and the toilet. The two-piece foam interior adapts to fit flanges that are above, even with and below finished floors, with absolutely no mess. Another great benefit of the Wax FREE Seal Kit is its ability to be repositioned during installation. A wax ring can be ruined and must be replaced if the toilet is not set properly on the first try. The user-friendly Wax free toilet gasket allows for multiple toilet setting attempts. Easy to install, the 6000 includes: (1) Toilet Gasket, (1) Set of Hardware and (1) Instructions. • I did it- you can, too!
Size: 1 Pack
Shut off water and completely drain/flush tank. When moving toilet out and back in, it is critical not to damage the connection between tank and toilet! (Do not twist tank from toilet or you can start up a bogus leak!) 2-person job moving toilet out and placing in. Enough said about the fragile toilet! After you (gently!) remove toilet, carefully clean underneath where it attaches to floor flange. Also clean bolt holes. Nice to have cardboard or rags to park toilet on. Oh yeah, wear nitrile gloves! Clean flange coming up out of floor. Before you clean flange, stuff a rag down drain and don't let anything drop in; not even the old wax! You have to clean it completely! Flange coming out might be level with floor; below or above. This determines whether you use thick black gasket, thin black gasket or both! But you must use at least the thin 1. When you hook bolts into sides of flange, hold on! They can drop down bottomless pit! Use white plastic holds to keep bolts in place; dont let bolts fall down hole! It's painful. Remember to bring rag out of drain, minding not to let anything drop in. (Gently!) Put in bodacious plastic housing through the bolt holes. Now's the time for black foam gasket(s) to go on top. What did you decide? There's pretty good instructions in a couple languages for making this choice. Video is good. (Gently!) Lower toilet back with bolts going through holes. Put washers and nuts on. Tighten with the idea that too much will crack your toilet! But yes use wrench or something. Toilet will rock a bit until you tighten it down. Very important! Caulk the crack between toilet and floor, but not the back 25%. This is so you will see leak if there's ever an issue. Filling in crack up front will secure it tightly for years to come and will seal out scuz, making it easier to keep clean. Hook back up and hang around for a bit while you cycle some flushes. Any leaks? No? I told you that you can do it! ... show more

  • What is most important is that the product does what is advertised. The product
Size: 1 Pack
The product is made in America, so the quality is assured. It's polymer plastic, instead of wax. The kit comes with two choices of polymer layers to adapt to any application. Easy to install, and the price is good. Just perfect.

  • Works great
Size: 1 Pack
I have 4 wax seals to replace and have done one so far. This was far easier than the YouTube video on getting the right height based on how far the pipe flange is from the bottom of your toilet. The toilet sat up about an 1/8" above the floor until I tightened the bolts. What I learned the hard way is that if the toilet has any rock or movement to it, it can break the wax seal and it will not reset. This appears to be more forgiving. ... show more

  • Excellent product but one minor flaw
Size: 1 Pack
Excellent alternative to wax seal. Easy to use. The only thing I had a problem with was with the flange bolts that came with the kit. As I was tightening the nut it the bolt popped out of the flange. I have a cast brass flange and thought it had broken but it was because of the new bolt being too small. The old bolts were 3/16th but the new ones were 1/4”. The smaller diameter let bolts shift sideways and pop out. I had to reuse the old ones and all went well. Maybe Korky should supply both sizes in the kit. ... show more

  • Honestly, I haven't installed it yet
Size: 1 Pack
My wax ring failed and was leaking from the base of the toilet. After purchasing a similar product for another toilet, I wondered why does everyone not use these? Why the same antiquated wax ring that's been around 100 years? It took me three tries to set the toilet down on the mark. With wax, that would have been 2 trashed rings. Three years later and another toilet has the same problem, only now the wonderful new technology I used in the repair has shown its weaknesses. Those rings are beginning to fail after 3 months. More time researching lead me to this Korky model. The design is completely different, and the materials used "should" not suffer the same failure, at least not any time soon. I would expect 10 years before this begins to show signs of breakdown. I would not expect failure for perhaps another 10 years. Now we're into wax territory and I can still reposition the toilet if needed when seating it. Now that we have the replacement parts, it's time to get our hands dirty and dig our fingers into this nasty job. Step one, rubber gloves! Step two, pull the toilet. The water is off, the tank is drained. The fill line is disconnected, and the flange nuts have been removed. I have plastic bags down. Now a little lift here, make that a little lift there. Perhaps if I try to rock it side to side a little. Well, it seems either the home builder or a previous owner glued this toilet down. Perhaps a lever here, and something to act as a fulcrum there and I can pry... That's obviously not gonna work. Maybe I can dig a little under... Maybe if I... Okay, I have another idea. A nice heavy bead of caulk completely around the base. DONE! The thinking here is, even if the cavity under the toilet were to fill with water, there is only one place for it to go, down the drain. A leak test says this toilet is sealed. Let's try one more trick, I placed a space heater blowing on the toilet for about 15 minutes. The porcelain is hot. By now the wax should have melted, flowed down the neck of the toilet, and pooled around the flange, hopefully creating a new seal. The next day I noticed the sewer smell is gone. The room is fresh and clean. The "facilities" have been used multiple times daily for months now, and not a drop has leaked. The Korky is still in its retail packaging on a closet shelf. ... show more
