used this screen as the “face” for a cosplay prop - i wanted something light, easy to use, usb rechargeable, i could make custom animations in, and controlled from my phone. this ticked all the boxes, and lasted a full day at a convention (8 hours) with only half the battery used.

This is awesome! Very bright for a little screen and it’s such a cool and unique piece that it catches people’s attention! Easily connects with an app by BT - It has a ton of preset designs or you can create your own scrolling text, or make your own animations! (Takes some practice LOL!) - It’s rechargeable and it’s fun to have two driving in different cars (was a fun way to stay “connected” when we moved across the country!) - We even have used it inside it with our son’s party! - We used the two we have and put them up where everyone could see them at hallway and our family room and had announcements about cake and presents! Totally bright and colorful! 9.6/10 would get this again! ... show more

This is easy to program. Bright and, while it worked, was fun to use. But, as with some electronics, it's not meant to take much abuse. Stopped working after a couple of months. If it's going to be relegated to a desk or not moved around much then I wouldn't see any issues. But, I think the AZ heat got it and it just stopped working. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I LOVE this little sign. I got it for decorative purposes and possibly a little school stuff for my kindergartener. The item itself isn't solid like hard plastic and is a flexible plastic face sewn onto a fabric "casing" with the LED stuff inside. It charges via USB-C and is pretty quick about it. It comes with its own tiny, short cable for charging (or keeping plugged into a battery bank or wall), a plastic sheet the size of the entire piece that you can essentially velcro onto the back fabric and attach tape or whatever to it, but aren't committed to having it on the item itself permanently. The little plastic sheet for the back can be "un-velcro'd" over and over again for different purposes. It also comes with these little pins so you can attach the sign to cloth. The pins are the typical butterfly style you see on brooches and collectible enamel pins, but with a tiny "pearl"-looking bit on the front. The app is interesting and frustrating, honestly. It was an absolute PAIN to capture the QR code from the back of the box in order to find the app. There is absolutely no paper instructions or anything else included in the product packaging. They don't even list the name of the app on box. So you either make the QR code work somehow, or if it's damaged or scratched, you're out of luck, apparently. For reference, the app is called "CoolLED1248" and is for Google Store and Apple's App Store. This issue NEEDS to be rectified by the producer and the app information needs to be spelled out in case the QR code is damaged or unreadable, or someone doesn't have the ability to scan the code for whatever reason. It's an insanely huge oversight that can potentially cause this item to be completely useless for someone. For the price they want for it, this is unacceptable. Speaking of price, $40 for this is WAY too much. It's an awesome little item and I'm mostly pleased with it (aside from the rocky start with the app) but this item should be priced closer toward $20-25. It's way too expensive. Considering it's a essentially an 8bit LED screen inside of a fabric case, it isn't worth what they're asking for it. I love the item, I just don't think the price is fair. The editor on the app that is used to create your own pictures, animations, and text is fairly intuitive from what I saw. It also has preset pictures, texts, and animations on it that you simply load up to the sign via bluetooth. I animated a few little artworks/animations myself and it was pretty easy. You can click on a button to copy a specific "slide" to change and add to the animation so you're not having to redraw everything exactly the same again. It shows a list and preview of each "slide" you've created so you can easily see the progress. You can change the speed the animations play at, as well as the brightness of the LED's (even with ambient lighting in the room, these lights get BRIGHT). In the attached picture and video, the scale is about half brightness on the app. There is a huge "light" option on the app homescreen that has a button you can use to turn the entire thing off when not using it, remotely (again via bluetooth). If you disconnect the bluetooth and shut the app down while the sign is on and doing its thing, it doesn't shut it off or affect it. It'll stay on until the battery dies or you turn it off via the app. So, don't worry about draining your battery having to leave the bluetooth attached or when you leave the house or something. Overall, this is an awesome and accessible piece of creative tech for many different types of people. It's cute, it's flexible and can be used for many things, and it's easy to manage.
