Features

  • BONDING PRIMER: A high adhesion primer that bonds to a wide range of difficult to adhere to surfaces. It is formulated for situations where a secure bond is critical and use of a traditional water or oil base primer might be questionnable. It increases the possibilities for paintable surfaces.
  • ADVANCED FORMULA: It's advanced styrenated acrylic polymer formula provides a sound anchor for topcoats while reducing or potentially eliminating the need for sanding dense, glossy surfaces. If using as a primer for epoxies, lacquers, products containing xylene or other hot solvents, allow to dry for 24 hours before topcoating and test for compatibility in an inconspicuous area before full coat application.
  • MULTIPLE SURFACES: Use on most interior and exterior surfaces where a secure bond is critical. Bonds to tough-to-paint surfaces including Kynar, PVC, Formica, vinyl, glass, tile, glazed brick, chalky paints, glossy finishes, fiberglass and metals. Topcoat with either water or oil-based paint. For use on interior and exterior surfaces.
  • SUPERIOR COVERAGE: This 1-quart can of KILZ Adhesion high-bonding interior/exterior water-based primer covers approximately 75-100 square feet. Dries to touch within 30 minutes and ready to recoat in an hour.
  • KILZ primers have been trusted by pros for nearly 50 years! Famous for providing high quality primer products that provide solutions to a wide variety of painting problems, KILZ is consistently ranked as one of the most trustworthy brands in the architectural coatings market. Lifetime Limited Warranty (see label for details).

  • Love the price for the gallon
Size: 128 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) Style: Primer
We inherited an orange walled house even the previous owner did not like yet did nothing about it in 2 decades. Since we were on a budget on how many thousands of USD we will spend I decided to paint everything myself using this Kilz 2 later 3, seeing no much difference between them 2: 1. Some walls were OK after 5, 6 coats, some needed less - all the items, excluding the brushes (from Dollar tree) were purchased here. Search for the extending up to 8 feet brush holder - that was another good find here at around 20 USD 2. None of the walls could be scratched after applying this, yet I am sure that our walls could be different than other people's walls 3. I even used it on the window wood trims and did an excellent job. Later on I decided to buy something more expensive for some doors as the previous owner painted some badly in white and the other side of the door was wood mimicking!!!!! Some strange people out there blaming it on their medical problems as if our DNA is perfect!!!! 4. Price: I purchased this at a very low price under 30 USD/gallon as it was at that moment in time, for 5 gallons the price was even better, so you might want to think about this once you buy a gallon and think this is the best paint for you. 5. The 14 inches long used rolls (also purchased here) you cannot but throw away at the end of the day, however the wide paint tray (purchased here too) was covered in large plastic bags, hence looking brand new even when finishing painting the house. You can peel off this paint off the plastic bag, off the floors etc - I like that. The empty gallon paint containers can be peeled too inside and outside and I used them as pots for the trees I have created out of the branches I found in our garden, saving hundreds of dollars as similar trees cost here - I put them to cover our very tall walls, near paints etc as I am a big fan of 'dead art' or right near our beautiful tall plants. Some trees were simply painted in white, also with this paint, some covered in autumn fabric leaves (purchased here at great value for money) or pearl stems (yes, also purchased here at great value for money and taped with white tape, also purchased here. Aren't I full of ideas? And yes, I would buy it again in the future for some white walls. ... show more

  • Incredible Primer
Size: 32 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) Style: Primer
Holy cow I cannot believe how great this was. We used it to paint the cross-section supports for a garage door that I think is some kind of vinyl or smooth plastic. Anyway, the primer went on easily; we did two coasts to be sure. Then after it tried, the paint went right on -- again, two coats because it was a dark blue. It looks amazing and there's no smears or anything. I'm so glad this was recommended. And, a lot cheaper than buying it from Lowes. ... show more

  • This stuff is the bomb....
Size: 32 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) Style: Primer
This stuff does exactly what it says....a super adherent bonding primer. So much so that you have to be really careful and clean up splatters and drips. Once it dried hard, you will never get it off. But wow, what magic for all the 6 panel doors that I used it on. They were varnished and I wanted them to be painted white and I was trying to avoid having to sand everything completely off. I washed them really well and did a light sand and them used the Kilz adhesion. One coat and then a Ben Moore trim paint. Still beautiful 3 years later and no chipping. So I bought more to refinish some furniture that I don't want to have to sand. Great product! Be aware that you should really use a respirator or paint outside if you can. ... show more

  • Best primer used to paint an RV interior
Size: 128 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) Style: Primer
This primer was researched extensively (many hours, blogs, websites) to find the right one for coverage and durability in revamping my outdated RV walls. If you are reading this you probably dislike your brown walls too. I ensured I lightly scuffed all surfaces with 220 grit, washed all surfaces with TSP-free cleaner. I let it dry. I masked off areas (longest part of whole process!) I then used this Kilz Adhesion primer with roller and brush (could spray it) applying 2 coats dried overnight each time. The 2 coats was needed for the dingy RV wall color not showing through. I painted 2 coats of Valspar Signature Eggshell in Alabaster. It looks fantastic! I have taken this trailer out in cold weather, down dirt roads and in sweltering heat. The paint looks perfect and easy to clean. 10/10 would buy again. Worth waiting for the shipment as this particular primer was not sold in the box stores. 1st pic: one coat primer 2nd pic: 2 coats primer 3rd pic: after primer and 2 coats paint with sticker backsplash finished ♥️ 4th pic: original wall color ... show more

  • I think it works
Size: 128 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) Style: Primer
I've had a wooden table and chair that used to belong to my great grandparents for years. Nothing in my house is brown wood though, so I wanted to finally update my craft room and paint this white and turn it into a whiteboard table top (I purchased acrylic/plexiglass to put on top and use a dry erase marker on). I did not, however, want to sand all of this down. These had great reviews so I bought it and primed both the table and chair with it before using a few cans of spray paint on them. I've never tried to paint wood like this that would have needed sanding and not sanding it, so I'm not sure what would have happened if I didn't prime this first; although, I am finding some cracking happening in the corners/crevices around the tabletop. I wonder if I didn't prime those areas enough before painting. Either way, it's not a big deal and the rest of the table and chair seem fine (it's been a few weeks since I painted them). I think I'm happy with what I got! (Also, this gallon is a large amount of the paint/primer. I probably won't ever use all of it, but I've got it stored away anyway, just in case). ... show more
