This is a colorful beautiful doll house any little girl is sure to love. my daughter absolutely loved the fact that it came in both of her favorite colors- pink & purple! The furniture and the house are the perfect size for her barbies! Everything is wood on this house except for the stairs that are a very thick very durable plastic. Very well crafted, except that our table came crooked, however i intend on replacing most of the furniture with better barbie furniture in the future. the tops of the couch and the bed are a fabric top, which i did not notice from the photo, pleasantly surprised. The room also seem bigger in person than i judged from the photo . Doll house was extremely easy to put together everything is clearly labeled. the instructions are only 7 steps. You will need a screwdriver for parts of it, it comes with an alan key for the rest-most of it is put together with the alan key. it took me about 30 mins to assemble it all. The parts all fit together perfectly, walls and floors met together perfectly and lined up. On step 6 be sure you have all the screws in before putting the back on!!!! only complaint was minor, the screws are all in a plastic divided container with a cardboard backing, it was alittle difficult to remove the backing without mixing up the screws that are labeled via the backing. i would have prefered seperated labeled bags, but maybe others would prefer this! Overall this dollhouse is amazing by itself when you add on the price i got it for 93- including the shipping, its AWESOME! My daughter cheered with delight when she saw it all put together and got right to stocking it full of all her barbies and accessories, played all night fell asleep next to it lol. ... show more

I just assembled this dollhouse last night for my 3 year old daughter, and it's pretty perfect! The wood has a nice, sturdy feel to it, and it's big enough for her to play either sitting or standing. I was a little worried that it would be flimsy, and at the $100 price point, I definitely wanted it to be worth it. Well, I can totally see my daughter bring able to play with this dollhouse for years to come, with proper care for it of course! The colors are vibrant, and I love the mixtures of pink and purple against the light wood colors. The littlevel furniture that comes with it is also sturdy, and works great with Barbies or similar sized dolls. As far as putting it together, it took about 2 hours, and wasn't too complicated. The instructions are pictures only, but each piece is numbered, and that made it easier to grab the correct piece. I only needed the little screw tool provided in the box, and my own Philips screwdriver. Overall, I am beyond pleased with the Kayla dollhouse. It's not as massive as some other variations, and as I said, my daughter will not grow out of it anytime soon. I've yet to find any cons about it, so it was well worth the money! ... show more

    • Great alternative to the Barbie Dream House

Don't get me wrong... Barbie is a great toy. My daughter loves Barbie... she has the Cruise Ship and it's a great option. But the Barbie dream house needs to be scrapped. It's a big, overpriced plastic piece of junk. This house is an awesome alternative. Solid wood/cardboard construction with great features. We got this for my daughter for her 6th birthday... she loves it. It is as tall as she is, and easily fits her Barbie dolls. It fits nicely in the corner of her room Nice variety of rooms to play with and great price for what you get. This will last a long time (we keep her two brothers away from it). Tedious but overall straightforward in the assembly. Don't screw anything too tight. Came with all pieces and parts as promised. Store exceeded our delivery expectations... ordered it on a Thursday with ground shipping and it came that Saturday (day of our daughter's bday). KidKraft makes excellent dollhouses. If you have a large playroom and a couple of girls, there is a larger model for about $200 that is very cool. We highly recommend this dollhouse... great product! ... show more

When my daughter asked for a Barbie Dream House for Christmas, I nearly choked at the thought of dropping nearly $150 on a plastic house. Due to previous experiences I don't have a very high opinion of any "Barbie-brand" dollhouses. After some research I settled on this - and it was SO worth it! 1. The house fits Barbies, which was the most important part of my search. 2. It's made of WOOD. Easy to assemble, yet sturdy, but not overly heavy. The furniture pieces that are included are also made of wood. My only bit of advice would be to make sure you're aware of the dimensions before purchasing! I didn't realize how large it was until it was assembled - and I had to move around a few things in my daughter's room so it would fit! It is pretty big. Awesome, but big. ... show more

I bought this for my granddaughter's third birthday, and she loves it! It took Papa a little while to put together, maybe half an hour, and when he was done I knew it was the right size, and it was adorable. Large enough for Barbies to fit - as well as all the other characters she plays with in there! The furniture is all very cute. My only issue with it was that some of the design was roughed up on the edges of the pieces, so when it was put together it wasn't 100% perfect - but she didn't care one bit! I'm sure she will have many happy hours playing with this! ... show more

The dollhouse is nice, it went together pretty easy. The instructions could be better, but it was still easy to get it together. The furniture looks nice, but half of the pieces arrived broken. On each piece that was broken, it looks like the glue that was used to assemble it didn't hold. Not a real big deal, but frustrating nonetheless. Bottom line, for a $100 dollhouse, I expected everything to arrive in play condition, and the fact that 5 pieces of furniture arrived broken, this only gets 3 stars. ... show more
