It does not spin very long and is very difficult to get going well because of how light it is. The top is made of very light plastic. It seems to be glued to a semi-small ball bearing on the bottom. The ball bearing did not stay attached very long. Even when using wind, using the magnet on the package to keep it stable, which it seems to be designed for, you can get it going pretty good but it still won't be going for long. I'd much rather have a normal top with a good base and balance to keep it going on a normal flat surface. ... show more

I love this! It spins better on a glass top surface. The first time I used it it kept spinning almost four minutes. When it begins to wobble blowing on it gently gets it going again. Intended for stir crazy grandchildren, but now I have to buy one for myself! So sorry Amazon won't load my video.

This is a great value for a cool little gift for younger children. It has good build quality and I say this because my kid hasn't destroyed it yet. It's fun, but of course they lose interest after a bit. He loves magnets also so it was a great little combo with the handy case.

It’s a pretty top. It spins like a regular top. As for the magnetic part... it’s weak and doesn’t always “stick”. Blowing it to spin is a bit tricky. I find that it works best if you blow gently like blowing bubbles. My three year old son likes it but losses patience when he tries to blow it to spin. ... show more

Plastic, prize-machine garbage. It's a Plastic top with half a metal ball bearing on the bottom. It's so light, it doesn't spin for long at all, and is difficult to stabilize. Worth a buck, maybe.

I bought this to be used as a fiddle toy for my husband who has Alzheimer's. This is much too small for him to handle. I have found that I must be very careful to get it spinning. It really only works if you gently blow downward on it. I am disappointed that it stops spinning very quickly. I will donate it to Goodwill. ... show more

This top is super cool. You blow down from the top and it literally will spin as long as you can blow on it. The top of it is plastic and the bottom has a metal ball bearing to give it some weight. I think it would be better if the whole thing was metal. The spin time is maybe 15 seconds if you don’t continue to blow on it.
