  • Not even close to what expected or hoped for, BUT!!!! *UPDATED*
This is an excellently packaged table. As you open it, you see the care and precision that was given to how this table (its pieces) would travel and the protection needed during freight. That aside, as beautiful as this table is, it is not even close to what I expected and hoped to get for the price. I painstakingly put it together making sure I was as precise and careful as I could. I even enjoyed putting it together as the pieces as well measured and fall into place almost on their own. I finished assembly and admired it for a bit all excited about the look of the table and hoping to get years of fun play and practice. I ensured a leveled surface and oiled up the bearings. As soon as I began to play, it was immediately disappointing. The playing field was not leveled. I checked the leveling of the table again and all sides of the playing field. Everything appeared to be in order, and so I tried again. The ball again did whatever it wanted. Upon closer examination, I realized that the playing field was not flat, it looked flat, but it was not. There are several spots where the ball would behave as though it was on rolling on a shallow funnel and making small circles. The "counterbalanced men" were not counterbalanced, not by a long shot. I tried "tweaking" the way the men mounted on the rod, but they really only go on one way. My excitement of having such a beautiful table was tempting me to overlook what I was seeing and experiencing. As I played more, it was just too much to overlook. All of the rods had way to much play in them and the ball return system would not return the balls reliably. I found myself, time and again, having to lift the tube that takes the ball from the goal to the side of the table so as to create a ramp and force the ball out. I chalk up all of the above to a defective table. Nevertheless, there were other things to consider that seem to have only to do with the actual design of the table. The rod handles bump all the way to the side of the table even with the rod bumpers properly installed. This caused a few bruises on my large hands because my grip protrudes some beyond the handle. Also, the look of the table was very deceptive. This table looks like a nice, heavy and sturdy table, but as soon as you play it, the illusion of quality quickly dissolves with cheap, wobbly, rods, light men, slick playing surface with no grip at all for the balls that come with it. Even the score keepers and cup holders feel cheap, light-weight and flimsy. With such a nice looking table and how long I saved and waited to buy it, I debated whether the issues were anything I could just live with and get used to. In the end, that was something I could not do because of the steep price tag. I would have kept it and saved up for an upgrade had it cost no more than $150. This table, in my opinion, is worth no more than that on a good, generous day. So, if you have some $600 burning a hole in your pocket and all you need is something that looks nice for the kids to mess around in without hopes of any "serious" play, this may be your table. Otherwise, like me, you'll only be dissapointed. I repackaged and returned this within a day. ****UPDATE**** I think we, as consumers, have grown used to seeing merchants, companies, and all types of businesses who promise they will take care of you and are interested in your satisfaction. KICK says that the customer's %100 satisfaction is their #1 priority. One, as a cynic, reads that and thinks, "Right, what about profits or being a viable thriving business." Well, I am here to tell you that after dealing with KICK's customer service, I am changing my once 2-star rating because of the above mentioned, to a 5-star rating for many reasons and here is why. Shortly after returning the table, I received an email from Alex S. from KICK. Alex "humbly" asked in the email for me to give them another try. Now, without saying everything KICK did for fear they may be taken advantage of, I will say this. At GREAT expense to the company (KICK), they ensured that it was clear to me that my %100 satisfaction was their #1 priority. I now have a table I could not love more. PERFECT. The care KICK puts into their tables and, most of all, their customer service is unparalleled. If you are looking to buy a foosball table, you cannot do better than giving KICK a try. I am overwhelmed and thoroughly satisfied with the level of professionalism and care these people have. BUY IT. ... show more

  • excellent table, but put it together carefully
The Royalton arrived well packaged, but it is a 140 lbs monster packet that you fear could break the deliverer's back. Inside everything is fine organized, the material is sturdy, measurements of the pieces are exact. I found that many complaints people had about the table happen because they don't watch the u-tube video and they put parts together the wrong way, such as this complaint: The ball get's stuck in the tube on the return. Well, this only happens if you install the reception box the wrong round, so the slope in the hose is gone, which can easily happen if you don't pay attention to the drawing details. The written manual is short, it doesn't address any detail such the above example, but we could not detect any flaws in it. Once put together it is a beautiful table with real steal parts, like the edges and cup holders, nice looking bolts, great wood stain - a real piece of furniture if you will, and it functions beautifully. Big fun! ... show more

  • good sturdy table but be prepared for some assembly frustrations.
End result is a really nice sturdy table that’s a lot of fun to play on. Printed instructions are pretty useless but youtube assembly video is good. It took a lot longer than I expected to assemble. the compressed wood is a bit soft so set your electric drill to stop before it over tightens all the screws. Even worse most of the handles ended up being loose because the threads in the rods kept stripping when the screws that hold them on were screwed it. That was my biggest frustration. I definitely was not over tightening them. I ended up having to use slightly larger wood screws and force them in to get a good tight feel on the handles. don’t know if the rods are too soft or the screws are garbage. Still trying to work out if the playing field is perfectly level - it definitely plays a lot better after some adjusting of the feet. Not sure if trifow lubricant is a good idea but I used a drop on each bar and holy cow it plays buttery smooth now. The balls do get stuck pretty frequently in the ball return. I’ll call kick tomorrow about that. Also I’m kind of regretting going with a one man goalie setup as that’s what I used to use but it seems 3 man goalie has gained a lot of popularity since then. the corner ramps are screwed into the playing field so if I go back to 3 man all have do deal with those screw holes. Update: The customer service really is excellent so I’m upping this from 4 stars to 5 stars. They are eager to resolve all my issues without any hassle. I ended up putting a single piece of electrical tape inside the return tubing where it connects to the ball return bin creating a ramp over the lip where it connects. ball return works a lot better now but can still get stuck only when there’s already another ball in the return bin. Update #2 I’m extremely happy with the table now. The kick lube makes a world of difference much better than the triflow lube i was using before. I mounted the ball return bins at an angle so the the balls roll away from the tube opening preventing one ball from blocking the opening of a second ball coming down. i also cut the ball return tubing a couple inches shorter to eliminate flat spots so the ball wont get stuck in them. I bought some tornado balls as well which play faster than the slow white balls the table comes with but still have good control. I wrapped the handles with tennis racquet overgrip which gives me way more control and blazing fast shots compared to the naked wood handles. one last recommendation. If you are setting the table up as a one man goalie, do NOT screw in the corner ramps into the playing surface. you won’t be able to change to 3 man goalie setup. the ramps will stay in place without the screws but if they don’t for some reason just use some double sided tape to hold them. ... show more
