  • Wonderful texture, flavor and versatility of this great product
Size: 14.5 Ounce (Pack of 1)
To be very honest I was expecting an unusual odor, flavor or texture to canned beef but was blown away by how good it truly is. The product is cooked in the can, so the shelf life is outstanding (5+ years) and contains only 2 simple ingredients, meat (beef) and sea salt. That's it. No bizarre long list of preservatives or chemical additives I can't pronounce. Incredible. Upon opening the can, there are three immediate visual things: the meat itself, the natural juices of the beef and the normal and natural fat content. It smells just like Sunday roast dinner. Done to medium rare. We heated it up in a saucepan (smelled amazing) and added some McCormick brown gravy mix from a foil pouch and it was honestly excellent. My wife and I enjoyed this with some jasmine rice and it is truly delicious. I will definitely purchase more of this product and wholeheartedly recommend it to others. I purchased some of the ground beef as well and am excited to try that tomorrow evening. The plan is to add it to homemade spaghetti sauce. Will post a review on that as well. As for us, we will certainly buy more of this to have on hand for quick meals, camping, cold nights and adding to our prepping necessities. I would leave 6 stars if I could. ... show more

  • Nostalgic and delicious
Size: 14.5 Ounce (Pack of 1)
Has a taste reminiscent of Campbell’s beef and barley soup of course without the barley. When I was a child my mom served me that soup for lunch. I loved it. Gave me a craving to have this beef with barley in beef broth. Delicious.

  • Not as good as home canned . . . but what is?
Size: 14.5 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I was planning to order direct from the manufacturer in bulk, but after reading so many reviews that weren't bright and shining here I was a bit hesitant. Let me explain. I live in a very hurricane prone area and try to maintain "a year supply" of food, etc. just in case. I can and dehydrate, etc. to supply a healthy pantry in case of emergencies. Well, 2020 was a year of emergencies and my pantry worked fine, but took a pretty hard hit. I was looking for a way to quickly restock my shelf stable meats without having to spend a lot of time since we're still in clean-up and repair from all of the past year's hurricanes, floods, freezes, and of course, the pandemic. That's why I was looking at Keystone. Now, my experience . . . I ordered several cans of different meats to give them a fair trial. All of the cans arrived in good shape, without dents, and "store fresh". Upon opening, the beef was a large mass of beef chunks. The mass is definitely from the processing, no big deal. There is liquid in the can . . . again, from processing, and a small amount of fat floating on top. You would know that this is also normal if you've ever canned meat. Some people have reported a "dog food" smell . . . they must buy expensive dog food. This smelled like opening leftover roast beef. Tasted like it, too. I drained it, added BBQ sauce, heated it up, put it on hamburger buns, and enjoyed a tasty bbq beef lunch. ... show more

  • Good product for long-term food stocks
Size: 14.5 Ounce (Pack of 1)
Canned meat like this is good to store for emergencies or quick on-the-go cooking, but you have to accept the fact that the taste is not as intense as fresh beef and the texture isn't the same either. Still, a good choice for long-term emergency food stocks because the price is lower than other comparable products and the quality is just as good. We found it costing less at Walmart online, but we plan to keep adding to our stocks wherever we get the lowest price. Good in casseroles, mixed mixed with mac-and-cheese or added to spaghetti sauce. We've also tried it mixed with chopped boiled cabbage and that worked too. Good product. ... show more

  • Beware - Horrible Quality
Size: 14.5 Ounce (Pack of 1)
The media could not be loaded. The product came in a really old looking box that was in HORRIBLE condition. The cans look like they were just thrown in there, they’re all bent and one of them isn’t airtight anymore. I ordered them really quick a few days ago because it was limited stock and it was a decent ish price at $4.99 which is already a lot for a can this size. The next morning it was some $16!! The quality isn’t worth $4 much less $16. I’ve been buying from Amazon for years and this is the worst quality product I’ve ever received. I’m VERY disappointed. ... show more

  • No one more surprised than me that this was SO good!
Size: 14.5 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I admit it, I'm a food snob. Canned meat? No way! I'm more of a grass-fed-pasture-raised kinda person. Then Covid struck. Creating a prepper pantry has become super important for the well-being of my family. So, little by little I've been trying various shelf stable options with the intention of making sure we could eat the stuff and keep rotating through the supply. Tonight it was this Keystone beef. I had extra veggies leftover from a pot roast and threw them in a bowl with some broth and a 14oz can of the Keystone stuff to make soup for DH and myself. Wow, it was shockingly great, like, I'll be happy to make this again! Great product...now just have to find a reasonably priced supply to stock up on. ... show more

  • Cannot be Returned if Damaged
Size: 14.5 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I bought these looking for good canned meat. I ordered 13. 11 came in a box mostly undamaged. 2 more came in a padded envelope with minor dents along the crimped seams. I tried the canned beef and the product is very good. There is no added water and it warms great. I tried it cold and both taste and texture were acceptable cold. My kids could handle it cold as well. The problem I have is Amazon's handling. Canned food does not need to be handled like eggs, but too much damage makes it unsafe to eat. When I tried to return/replace the damaged cans I was blocked as this is not returnable. I had to call in to get a refund for the damaged cans. This stuff is very expensive. At nearly double the cost of most other canned beef I require it to be delivered in usable condition. Not so customer centric anymore Amazon.... if you can't handle delivering food, then don't sell it. ... show more
