  • Better Quality than the keysmart Max
Color: Red
The media could not be loaded. I like the fact that it is aluminum not plastic still not the easiest thing to set up but way better than the plastic Max. Good value

  • BEWARE! What a great idea with an awful implementation!
Color: Red
I was all excited to use my new Key organizer especially since I had a mailbox key that is so flimsy it bent in my pocket and I saw this as a way to protect it from further damage. Looks like this item would be as handy as my swiss army knife. WRONG! Beware as the pictures on the package deceive you into thinking normal house keys will fit on both sides of the unit - and their total number of keys that can fit is way way overestimated! First off - they include extended screws in their package - how nice right, in case I want to add more keys? wrong! they do that because without the extended screws you can only put two keys in the unit! And I am talking normal house keys. And the extended screws do not 'add' to the original height of the holder - you replace the original screws. So they purposely send you a unit that really is not practical at all - unless you only carry two keys - which then, why would you want the unit to begin with? Oh, and if you count the keys on mine - even if you could stack only keys into this unit (no spacers) and have super tiny keys that would both be able to fold in and not touch those on the other side - you will only fit 6 keys per side! So they absolutely lie in saying you can have 14 keys in one unit! You can see in my pictures small silver keys - those are small mailbox keys - and even those keys as you can see against the ruler are more than half the length of the unit so you would have to stagger those keys if you wanted them on both sides. The pinkish purple key is a standard house door key - and that definitely is larger than half the length of this unit. IF you could stagger the keys without wasted space between them you would only be able to fit 6 in the unit when using the extended screws - where they think you can fit 14 is beyond comprehension! So again - the unit is lacking in length - so unless you have smaller than normal keys, you will NEVER get 14 keys into this unit. Since I have normal house keys I had to end up putting all the keys on one side and putting the included spacers on the other. And no, there was no way to intermingle the keys on both sides (swiss army style) because the spacers were not normal key thickness ! So when I tried to "swiss army" them there was too much space between the keys and as such, could not fit all the keys in one unit. And - if you have larger keys - I have 1 that has a longer shaft, it will not fold up into the unit even with no key opposite it.. And don't even get me started on the 'ease of assembly' - it was a nightmare and I wish I had all that time back! You have to stack the keys and the spacers and then try to screw the whole thing back together - I see with the more expensive model they give you a 'stand' to hold the unit in while building it - that's nice - but I will not spend another dime on this company's products! Unfortunately, when I bought mine, I also bought a second one as a gift. Luckily my friend had not put it together so I relayed my frustrations and bought them another, more practical and usable gift. And the last annoyance - I had key guards on the three smaller silver keys because they look alike - forget it if you want to use any colored key guards - I would only be able to put those three keys in the unit! You can see my completed unit in the image above - only positive so far is that the mailbox key does seem to be protected from further bending. ... show more

  • Meh. Just okay.
Color: Red
I think this is a cool gadget that COULD BE purposeful. I like that my keys aren't jingling around on my keyring and are organized; however, I have a few complaints. I ordered the 2-4 key version. I have 4 standard-sized, front door keys and my larger car key on the loop piece. Like another reviewer said, my keys do not entirely lie flat alongside one another when using the KeySmart. I tried stacking them different ways and used the provided spacers. That helped some. The height is even on both ends when I used the spacers. I'm just still not sure about the keys stacking on top of one another. The keys stick out a little on the sides. I guess it is right when compared to the product pictures on Amazon. I wished the KeySmart company had provided me with paper directions with words and pictures instead of sending me to their website for a "how to" video. That's a nice way to be "green," but the video didn't show everything (example: show step-by-step instuctions, what is the best way to stack your keys for proper placement?, what is the easiest way to hold your keys and screw in the screw [without use of a quarter...I used a real screwdriver] when attaching them to the KeySmart?, etc.) I ended up watching YouTube videos that were much more helpful. As far as assembly, I have two main complaints. 1. I had the hardest time piecing and holding all of this together!! I had a hard time making the standard-sized keys fit somewhat evenly and holding everything (the keys, the spacers, the metal round insert pin, the end of the KeySmart frame, and the screw) in place with my hands while trying to screw in the screw!!!!! The product description says one can place your keys on the KeySmart within minutes. Yea right! It took this girl an hour or longer. 2. I think there is a major flaw with the screw. The groove in the head of the screw needs to be deeper. I used a slotted or flathead screwdriver and had a hard time screwing in the thread. I also think $20 is pricey for the KeySmart Compact key holder that only holds 2-4 standard keys. This doesn't include the price of the extension kits or accessories. ... show more

  • Good idea but will require some design tweaks to be great.
Color: Red
I am using the classic product with extender pack for last one week and so far I have been satisfied. I use it to store a Yubikey, 4 keys and a fob and it has definitely made carrying those a breeze. But there are a few things which any potential buyer should know. 1. If your keys are of different shape and size, then be prepared to spend a lot of time figuring out the best configuration. I had to use more spacers than keys to make it work. Assembling this is not as intuitive as it is shown on the company website. 2. If you are planning to use a USB device (or something similar), get the extension pack. Without it, you won't be able to assemble it properly. 3. Don't buy this if you need to put more than 8 (max 10) keys. With keys, the spacers and the loop, it gains considerable height which kind of defeats the purpose of getting this. If you really need to have more than 10, then will suggest buy two or just use it for the most frequently used ones. 4. Do measure your keys before buying. I do have some really long keys which won't fit properly in the classic / standard version. You may need to get the extended version. Overall, I like it. But be sure to read all the reviews here and read / watch the assembly instructions on their website before buying it. ... show more
