It just felt different than what I’m used to in a bathroom rug. And, when I first put it down in front of the tub, the material (pile?) felt a little slippery on my bare foot. This rug is pretty amazing – 1. thin memory foam, but is perfectly padded when you step on the rug 2. dry or damp feet will not slip (my original fear when I put the rug down) 3. my vacuum doesn’t suck it up like every previous bathroom rug I’ve had (I do have to be careful at the edge of the rug, but the main area stays flat and is easy to vacuum) 4. very, very soft 5. so far is dog and cat proof (they like to scrunch up bathroom rugs and make them into their perfect lumpy bedding) I haven’t tried washing it yet. This rug is better than expected. It is soooooo soft and comfortable to touch and walk on. It looks great where I placed it, in a relatively high traffic area near my front door and it's holding up fine so far. We have two dogs and a cat and I was worried it would be a pet hair magnet and surprisingly that seems to not be the case. I have put it through the wash once so far and there were no issues. It was easy to fit in my front-loader and it came out beautifully with no pilling or matting. I ordered it in green (4x6) and the color is true to the product image. Recommend! ... show more

I have 3 main criteria for judging rug quality: 1.) build quality 2.) texture (on surface and underside) 3.) appearance Build Quality. The build quality of this rug is fine. It doesn't feel amazingly strong, but I think it will withstand being lightly trampled for at least a few years. It is about the same feel as a shower mat you can buy from your local superstore. Texture. This was a little surprising to me, as I did not know what to expect. First, the surface is very soft. It is similar to a plush blanket, meaning it is kind of "furry" and feels good underfoot. It is not the typical carpet/rug texture. It also has some foam or something in between the layers of fabric that make it squishy, in a good way (again, very similar to a bath mat). Second, the underside has little rubber grip dots that keep it from moving around on hard floors, which I like. It works OK for me so far, but it could use some more grippiness to stay put better. Appearance. Ngl, this is where the rug falls short. I got the black version, which I think was the best looking of the options, and it hides its short comings pretty well. However, it is a very plain rug, and out of the box, it has some creases in it that have not gone away yet. If you need just a plain, simple, non-distracting rug to put in the center of room, this works for that purpose, but I would not say it looks amazing or anything. Overall, this rug is fine. It does its job. It's not flashy, it is plush and comfortable to step on with bare feet, and it seems to be relatively structurally sound. I would avoid using this rug outdoors or in high-traffic areas, though, just because its plush nature won't let it hold up to a lot of abuse. ... show more

I have two dogs and they tend to wreak havoc on my carpet. They both have the habit of drying themselves off on the carpet after a bath or when they get wet in the rain. My little black dog, Brutus, is a nervous little guy. He tends to scratch at the carpet during storms and before he lays down he likes to scratch the area he plans to lay on. Before I put down new flooring (probably tile) I decided to look for a durable, washable rug that's also comfortable to walk on. I hit the jackpot with this rug. It's extremely soft underfoot, lightweight and durable. After two weeks of being scratched on, rolled on and even chewed during a particularly bad storm it still looks like new. So this is not exactly what I was expecting. This both feels, and looks like a gigantic bath mat. It's not BAD, but it is definitely not what I expect of an interior rug. The color is a little more blue than I'd hoped, and it didn't really match the green vibe of my living room, so I just unrolled it in the garage and called it an exterior mat. Nice area rug. Soft and comfy when walking across with bare feet. Non slip backing that helps it stay in place. Somewhat low pile rug. I have tiled floors throughout the house that I use throw rugs here and there to cover up. Don't like bare floors through the house. One area that I don't have a throw rug in is the hallway. This is perfect for that area since I can't find the size I am wanting. Should be easy to keep clean since it is lightweight and machine washable.
