Before I gave him to my granddaughter for her birthday, I had to take him out of his box and see what he looked like. He was the most precious thing. He was about the size of a one month old and without thinking, I caught myself holding him like a real baby. I hated having to put him back in the box; it felt like child abuse! Lol! I bought her the boy because she had a newborn baby brother and she was able to use his outground newborn and 0-3 month old outfits. That saved us money buying clothes for “Justin.” My granddaughter was over the moon! She’s 5 and her little brother is 2.5 and he cried and cried because he wanted to hold the baby. Oh and funny thing, it was sitting in the back of my daughter-in-law’s SUV while she was in the store and a furious older woman came in screaming that someone left a baby in the car! My 7 yr old wanted a baby doll that "looked just like a REAL baby". Well, she got it. She named him Tommy and ABSOLUTELY LOVES HIM. We have bought newborn size clothes for him to have different outfits... it's a little out of control.

I ordered this for my granddaughter and she absolutely loves him he actually weighs as much as a newborn looks so real very durable and so much fun to play with. I actually went online and order the girl doll so she now has twins the same brand of doll. Just as nice as an expensive one these are so much worth the money ... show more

This doll is high quality, and looks lifelike enough in person, but it isn’t an approximation of a newborn baby. First, it comes with a full head of hair (which you don’t see in the Amazon photos because of the hat), and second of all, it’s too big to be a newborn. It’s more like a 1-2 month old (which might not seem like a big difference, but we bought it to use as the baby Jesus in a nativity, and it just doesn’t quite look right). It’d be perfect if I had bought it for a slightly older baby. FYI, the head, arms, and legs are moderately rigid plastic, but the body is soft (stuffed).
