Description

A helmet that fits properly is also safer and, to achieve a precise fit, the Kask Urban R features a completely new ERGO FIT adjuster to literally dial in comfort and safety. To further secure the helmet, a synthetic leather chinstrap can be adapted for a personal fit thanks to side adjusters.All Urban R helmets come with a Light Smoke Visor with UV400 protection and, for the fashionable rider, KASK offers four accessory visors that can be easily swapped in and out with a click using the One-Move Switch System. The soft fabric on the interior padding has been treated with the antibacterial and antimicrobial Silver Plus process for optimal hygiene. The padding's two different thicknesses are deliberate for protection and to accommodate sunglasses. Removable, washable pads help keep the Urban R fresh for everyday use.

It is an expensive helmet. Almost $270. delivered. However, it is impressive; especially the ability to dial in the fit with the twist knob in the back. It is relatively lightweight with good fit and finish. It comes with a removable eye shield which is a welcome extra. I believe I made a wise choice for my style of riding—usually 5 days a week. I was on the verge of ordering prescription bicycle eye wear when I finally stumbled across this helmet. I love the visor, it fits perfectly over my glasses plus I feel more secure in this than I did the Thousand. It’s also got better airflow than the Thousand. I ordered this to compare to the Kali protect. I wear glasses so a visor is nice to keep wind out of my face and rain off my glasses. The pros: The visor is large and clear and easy to swap. The straps don't rub. The construction seems solid. The cons: Above about 15mph, the visor whistled/howled. I tend to ride with my head a little down from straight ahead and the noise was constant. It was not just wind noise as I have another visor helmet that does not sound as loud. This was the problem that caused me to return the helmet as it was not ignorable to me. If you ride totally upright or slower, you would probably not have the issue except in direct wind. The visor is so big that if you have a small face, it might sit oddly on your face. I have an oval face and it was right from the top of my nose to when I was wearing it so that the helmet was comfortable. Other: The default visor is essentially clear. I thought it would be darker so I bought a clear visor to swap with for night riding, but the stock visor is not tinted like sunglasses and would be fine at night. If you want sun glasses tinting, you would need to order the darker shades to be effective. ... show more

    • Excellent Problem Resolution by Kask!
This helmet arrived broken, likely because the on-the-shelf box was just put in a plastic envelope and shipped to me by the distributor (I think a shop in TX). It was damaged in a way that made me think it had been slammed hard; the visor was detached, and top inner foam shock-absorbing segment was also detached and broken in two. This means to me that the helmet can no longer be trusted to function correctly in a crash. Amazon said to contact KASK. The GOOD part is that the rep in KASK's US office did a great job; asking only some pix of the damage and a proof-of-purchase, they immediately sent me a replacement (this time properly boxed for shipment). The helmet is built very well and provides good coverage which is critical for ebike riders. This is my second KASK helmet. They are Vary high quality helmets. I use this helmet for an ebike, it’s one step away from a motorcycle helmet…The face shield is a must for people with dry eyes and watery eye issues at high speeds or windy days. It’s big and dorky but descriptively light weight practical. It’s virtually identical to the full snow board helmet just without the extra winter padding and a little less size wise in the back of the head. Now I don’t know if they are recommended for e-bikes so use at your own risk. But it sure feels safer that a standard bike helmet. ... show more
