    • It doormats like a doormat should
Doormats walk a fine line, don’t they? Summer more like rugs, summer more like nature. The ones that are more like rugs often look a lot better, but they don’t hold up, and it always causes you misgivings to mark them up with all the detritus you track in from the outdoors. The ones that look like this one, the hemp like, rope fibers, seam to invite a little more abuse, and as such, they too, eventually start to degrade overtime. At the risk of being to philosophical, I’m in my fifties and still don’t know what material makes for a perfect doormat. So let’s just identify this one as the natural, ropy organic fiber type Matt, the kind that in spite of its festive and attractive pattern, seems ready and willing to meet your muddy paws or boot heels without much protest. it’s the type of doormat you will probably need to replace next year — hauling it away faded and waterlogged and relieved of duty. Which has been my experience for every doormat I’ve ever had. In that sense, it’s priced exactly right, and meets all my expectations. ... show more

This is a quality coir doormat. It is well-made and heavy duty. I like the pattern on the rug (good for spring and summer). It does a great job at keeping people’s feet clean. The mat does not move around which I appreciate (I do not want it moving about the porch). It is a good size at 17” by 30”. Personally, I wish it was just a little bigger, but that is my personal preference. Some fibers do come loose, but it is not many. It catches the dirt which is important to me. I was rather hesitant ordering this coir doormat. Now I'm so glad I took the plung. I've had other coir mats in the past, but the overall performance was, well let's say 'messy'. The fibers in the mats were always coming loose, and it looked like dead grass everywhere. I was constantly sleeping up the mess. We've had this coir mat on our backpack for about 2 weeks now and still no breakdown of the fibers. This mat stays in place while wiping our feet when coming in from the backyard. The design printed on the mat is a simple one and easily blends with any porch decor. But, I would love to see more design options for various porch themes. This coir mat is proving to be a winner and it looks like it'll be around for quite some time.
