These crates have a nice shabby chic look and come in four different sizes. They are a little bit more finished than an actual crate of course, but still a nice shabby chic look with the distressed white paint. I have wicker baskets but I find baskets do not hold bottles and containers upright very well; these crates have a flat bottom and straight sides so I like that my bottles and containers are not tipping over anymore. What got my attention was that the crates are waterproof. I plan to use them together, but with a variety of different things on them from a lamp to plants to plant supplies. They will be around plants, so can easily get wet, although I plan to avoid letting that happen. I gambled on them, as the product page pictures showed crates that could either look much better in person or much worse. Won. These look much better than the pictures. For my uses, they are perfect. For someone expecting the same size crates produce was once always delivered in, and still is at times, these will be much too small. These are well constructed with quality wood that is sanded nicely. There are no rough edges, and the individual pieces are all uniform in finish and thickness. The natural finish is nice, but I am sure that these would take staining or painting very well. You can see the sizes of these from the photos in the listing. They are perfect for displaying or organizing smaller things, but I would not use them for storage. ... show more
