I got this doll for my daughter's 3rd birthday. I'm delighted with it- it looks realistic without being creepy. Her biggest giveaway as a not real are the lips, which are a bit too bright and shiny. I'm not sure the pictures do the paint job justice but it is otherwise really great- the hair is done well, she has subtle mottling on her upper arms and legs like a real newborn would if those parts were exposed, and there is fine blue veining in appropriate places. Her nose is even a bit pink like a real baby who has been using a pacifier. She seems to fit in NB sized clothes with just a touch of extra room- when I find a preemie outfit, I'll try that just to see if it's a more perfect fit, but I think the doll will be able to use my daughter's NB wardrobe, which is cool. I like the way they did the torso to add a more realistic shape that will fill out the diaper area of an outfit. I also like that the arms and legs are plastic all the way up so that short sleeved clothes will look fine. She comes in a long-sleeve onesie with a magnetic pacifier, a small bottle, and a fake diaper that feels pretty real but doesn't have absorbent material in it- like a swim diaper. I would plan on a bit of time to let her air out before giving her to a child as it does arrive with a bit of a plasticky smell. I think if I were to change anything it would be muting the lip color a bit and adding a pleasant smell (vanilla or baby powder would be nice.) ... show more

This adorable Jirachi Reborn Baby is a little miracle for the price. Sweetly rendered in a sleeping pose (not looking expired), this little girl has painted hair, nails, and eyebrows with glossy lips and real-like eyelashes. The limbs are hollow and satiny; with their yielding softness, they seem more babylike. The body is not weighted, which is perfect for a small child, and it is comfortable to hold and cuddle. Overall, with the baby's limbs positioned as they are, the whole doll is quite lifelike and adorable--without being creepy. I'm saving this for my niece, who will be two years old next March--probably until her 3rd birthday, as advised by the manufacturer. For the price of this doll I assumed it would be more like the reborn dolls than what I received. Yes it does look life like and the details are very well done. The arms and legs are a softer material but not what I was expecting. The legs also can be moved forward and back but have a odd shape to them. I do like the little fat roll details though. The clothes that came on them are very cute but I do with the pacifier had a stronger magnetic stick. These are for a my kids so they didn't need to be perfect but I was really hoping they would be made less like a normal plastic doll than they were. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This baby doll is so stinkin' cute. I've never seen anything like it. The coloring on it is incredible! This baby has little blotches and even little veins. There is pinkness added and depth of coloring that make it very realistic. I got this to have for nieces, nephews, all of the other small children that frequently come to play with at my house, and my future grandchildren. My own youngest, a 12 yr old boy said that it is "freaky how real that looks Mom!" She is the perfect size. This is not a weighted doll, the majority of any weight she has comes from the head, arms, and legs. Positioning of the arms and legs can be adjusted at the hips and shoulders. She comes with a magnetic binki and the little bottle. I love that the binki is magnetic rather than a hole in the mouth that it has to be pushed into. She does not come with the picutred teddy bear. There is one thing I would change, and one quality issue. The top portion of the torso shows and it is fabric. If the outfit had a little more slack in the length and a smaller neck hole this wouldn't be an issue. The quality issue mine has, is there are a couple of places that it appears like a finishing spray or something dripped and caused a different sheen on a couple of places on the arms. The painting on the toe nails isn't perfect, but pretty dang close! Outside of that, I think this is a fair price for what what you get! I would buy this again. I can't believe how realistic she looks. I would imagine that similar dolls that are at a higher price point are likely made with a different body and possibly a different material with a slightly different feel, becuase I can't imagine the finishes (other than the drips/sheen difference caused) being any better! This baby doll is just adorable. Perfect life like details but not too real. She has soft stuffed body and squishy limbs. Great baby doll for play. Preemie baby clothes fit these dolls so it's fun that these dolls can wear my daughters outgrown outfits.
