My son who is almost 8 wears a size 10/12 shirt usually. We have bought Minecraft gear before and realize that it normally runs smaller than normal stuff. With this in mind, I ordered a 14/16 for my son in hopes he will get more than a year out of it. We actually bought this as a Halloween costume instead of those cheapy box heads that are sold. After receiving it in the mail, I was very happy with this purchase. Although the arm length is a bit long, the rest of it fits great. The shirt seems to be !Ade for a very slim long armed person. Lol (that's if unwere to buy it for true to size) The sweatshirt fits me. As a 5'4 130 lbs adult. It fits my son fine with the sleeves rolled up. And he will get at least 2 years out of this shirt. The eye holes are set too far apart so don't expect to see put them but it works just as fine to pull it up a tad and look out the mouth hole. We have gotten tons of compliments on the sweatshirt! A bit pricey IMO, but to use it as a Halloween costume and keep it as a regular sweatshirt, I guess I won't complain too much. So yes, I would order up a size from what your kid would normally wear. Just expect the arms to be a little long. :) excellent purchase though!!! I wanted to update this review .. Over a year later, and this sweatshirt is still holding strong, zipper is still in great condition as well. This product was a personal purchase for myself at the normal retail/list price. My son liked it, especially the hood that turns into a mask. BUT the zipper is horrible! First time using it and it's stuck. Maybe we got one of a few defective zippers... we'll see. I'll see if I can exchange it for another and if the zipper is bad on that one, too. I'll update my review when the exchange happens. Update: I dropped my review down to 1 star. Turns out we aren't eligible for a return anymore (we were waiting for his brother's new sweatshirt to arrive before opening them both) so I cannot comment on the quality of any others of this item. I didn't drop down to 1 star because of the return policy (that's on me for waiting), I dropped it because based on the one we got I cannot recommend this product to anyone. Also, we found the same sweatshirt at Target and after testing those zippers in the store they seemed to be weak and showing signs of messing up like the one we got here on Amazon. My son picked out a different sweatshirt in the same section (a Bart Simpson hoodie with pull down face) and he is very happy with that one. ... show more

It could not have arrived at a better time also, sooner than expected and my son had the awful stomach bug that lasted 4 days and this cheered him up (: I gave it 4 stars because it's too pricey and the sleeves are extra long like it was made for monkey arms! haha But, they are not too long to where he can't wear it, the sleeves need to be rolled up a little and bunched up. Other than that it was perfect (have not washed it yet so I can not review the results after wash) It feels like it could shrink so I do not plan on putting it in the dryer at all. Zipper works nicely and the minecraft logo on the zipper adds extra touch to it. I was worried on the Fit because of reviews but i read none on little boys size small. I am glad i went with small instead of extra small. It is a little big on him but give him room to grow since it was so expensive he can enjoy it longer! BTW My son is 4 years old, will be five in 6 months, I purchased the size Small. He is your average size, small waisted but has almost outgrew his 4T pants and shirts and is wearing mostly 5T's now. he is 40 lbs.I hope this helps anyone wondering about toddler sizes. He can wear regular little boys size 4's pretty good but 4Toddler sizes are too short in belly and jeans are getting too short. He is kinda in that inbetween a size 4 and 5 stage and the small fit him great (with room to grow, but not too much to where it looks way to big) ... show more

Great quality! My grandson LOVED it!!! I bought it for his birthday #7. He lives in Arizona , where it is hot most of the time. I was there July and August (very hot) , and gave this to him. He would not take it off!!! He had the hoodie zipped right up like the picture shown, all day, in 119 Farenheight!!! The sleeves are a bit long but kids like them that way. Big recommendation on this hoodie!!!!! Minecraft is all the rage for these kids! Beware of the backpacks!!! Make sure you buy from a true licensed Minecraft seller, not from China or Japan. There are a lot of fakes out there. I have told Amazon about these issues and they are being dealt with. I ordered one and it was a fake from China . It was a piece of junk and broke the first day. Do not buy cheap as that is usually a sign. Only buy through Amazon, not a 3rd party seller!!! ... show more

I purchased a hoodie like this at Target earlier this year and wanted to get similar one as a gift for our friends' son. It looks cool, but the quality is subpar (but what else can you expect from the kids cosplay costume?) When it arrived I compared them both and realized that the one sold on Amazon is exactly as the one we purchased earlier at Target but the price was twice as high.
